The Tories must think you are all really stupid ..

... not me, of course, because I can see straight through them ... but some may be taken in by it all

They now say that they will give money back to the taxpayers (brilliant) - but they also say they will cut faster and harder than Labour (OK).

BUT YOU CAN'T DO BOTH!!

Which makes them totally unelectable IMO .... they simply do not have a clue, the Chuckle Brothers live up to their name!

Please tell me they haven't hoodwinked you?

darts_aint_sport 29 March 2010 01:16 PM

Yes... saying you'll be saving £500m by 'reducing' sick days in the NHS is a much more sensible proposition!

Jamescsti 29 March 2010 02:02 PM

Ah pete, I'm glad to see you haven't been taken in by the tories, when will you see through the sinking ship that is new liar, sorry labour? And their cluless leader Gordon Bown?

Dedrater 29 March 2010 02:38 PM

Die unendliche Geschichte

dsmith 29 March 2010 05:34 PM

So you can't cut spending faster than labour AND give money back ?

Why cant you do both ?

Lets face it you couldnt posibbly cut slower and easier and labour...because public spending is *still* growing under them.

I'd like one of the parties to stand up and say they'll cut the public sector work force by 15%. It will be 10 years of pain for the necessary correction to the economy but we'll all come out the side better off. Well those of us contributing to the economy will. Those choosing to play the system and stay at home will find themselvee having to cancel sky, cancel their iphone contracts and put their multiple games consoles on Ebay. Who knows they may even find time to actually teach their kids respect and the value of money and saving.

Jamie 29 March 2010 05:46 PM

Yes he will keep scoring and we will finish 4th :)

madscoob 29 March 2010 05:56 PM

a brief explanation as to how labour are so good at wasting taxpayers money from my own personal experience
1 pay someone £35000.00 approx per year to tax me £125.00 per month
2 pay someone £35000.00 approx per year to give me back £185.60 every 4weeks i child benefit
3 pay someone £35000.00 approx per year to give me more childrens tax credit than i get in wages
4 pay someone £35000.00 approx per year to take and process school diner money off me because i get ctc
5 pay someone £35000.00 per year to take council tax
this could all be done by one central department
and just remember campers every migrant worker over here with 3kids back home earning £15000.00 per year is getting more benefits than he/she is paying in tax , now i for one find it hard to work out how they benefit this once great land , apart from the bankers getting payed to wire their money back home

All Labour have done is thrown money at the NHS ,Education etc without a thought as to how it should be spent. Just by making these huge concerns more efficient could save billions.

Likewise the benefits system needs a damn good shake up. For example why do we pay every pensioner the winter fuel allowance. If is needed fair enough. My own mother for example has a monthly pension income that most people in the UK could only dream of earning yet they still pay her winter fuel allowance of £400. Why? She doesnt need it , doesnt want it yet still gets an automatic payment every year.

And anyway Pete we all know your a closet tory anyway. :)

I've got a few ideas to save money, not sure I believe them all...

Compulsory contraception whilst on benefits.
If you want benefits you have to justify it to a panel of taxpayers and you have to look them in the eye and tell them what you're doing to get off benefits.
If on benefits you can't vote.
If on benefits you have to work to earn them. If you can whinge about your benefits being cut you can do a useful job, and no you don't deserve the minimum wage unless you can prove your worth.
Prisoners to be used to contribute to society doing useful work rather than costing us money.
Scrap child benefits, tax credits, and any stupid scheme that is expensive and doesn't help anyone, and reduce taxes. Simplify the tax system dramatically.
Sack every NHS manager that can't justify their job to a panel of nurses and doctors.
Privatise everything possible.
Halve the number of MPs.
Scrap the Welsh and Scottish parliaments.
Nuke the quangos.
Scrap the nukes once you've used them on the quangos.
No one should be able to make six figures from public sector employment.
Strikers can be sacked. If you don't like it get another job. If you can't get another job that maybe tells you something about your abilities or the present economic situation.
Increase VAT to 19%.
Return powers to teachers to achieve discipline.
Give the Police more power.
Compulsory military service unless you can gain competitive entry to higher education or get a job that allows you to contribute a useful amount in tax.
Abolish all the crap that local councils pay for that no one knows about.
Make everyone in the public sector reapply for their own job.

Overall stop big government interfering with markets and things that people can do for themselves. Then you'll avoid public sector bloat.

Maz 29 March 2010 10:26 PM

Amen to that John.

Pjamie 29 March 2010 11:18 PM

I switched off after 15 minutes because I couldn't be bothered with the pointlessness of their discussions, and after getting annoyed by Darling when he was coming back at Osbourne about how he couldn't make £11 billion savings and cut taxes at the same time. Instead, he didn't say it was tax cuts, he said it was "giving money back". Just about sums up the perspective of those in power thinking that they have a right to everything you earn - and there was me thinking a tax cut meant that the Government were taking less, not them giving me something back as if it was a present.

One of the jobs I work at had a Romanian chap working for them. He was on canny money and getting, working tax credit/child tax credit etc. He was raking it in and guess what. He was sending it home to his wife and children in Romania as he said he was allowed to do :cuckoo:
So does that mean, my extortionate tax is supporting Romanian families, who live in their own Country. eh!!!!

Pete,

To give money back to the taxpayers they will have to cut harder and faster than Labour.

What part of that really simple concept don't you get?

richie001 30 March 2010 12:46 PM

Pete,You say that the Tories are totally unelectable and this current "cabs for hire" Labour government is?

pslewis 30 March 2010 01:22 PM

I'm not say any are electable ................ just that, sadly, labour look far more electable than the Tories!

Which really is a disgrace - we either vote for more of the same, or we chance our future on the Chuckle Brothers ....... it's a disaster for the country!

I'm NOT going to vote Labour ... the back-stabbing, lieing bunch of scroats ... but look at the even more pathetic Tories - makes me weep

Yes, he has done well by all accounts. Sent his benefits to his family and bought a house with his wages.
She and the kids are over here now. :freak3:

You'll need some consistancy Pete, if you are going to keep this up:D

stevebt 30 March 2010 05:09 PM

Wether you hate Conservative or not? its the only vote to get Labour out? I'm going tgo vote Conservative on the next ellection and not because I think they aer the right party but purely as its the common sense way to get Labour out :) I do believe the BNP will gain seats from people voting in protest and the Liberals will gain more as well but the only way to truly get Labour out is to vote Conservative. If labour win the next election they will think everything they stand for is correct and the country will get taxed to the hilt! I personally think they are as bad as each other but how much worse can the conservatives do???

What a scary world you live in John. I think they call it middle England (except you are Scottish!). Prime fodder for the Daily Mail!

john banks 30 March 2010 07:22 PM

For some reason I intensely dislike the Daily Mail, but I'm clearly not waiting for a socialist utopia ;)

I am English :D

I can hate Labour .... but still recognise that they are much better than the Tories!

I can hate what Blair and Mandy did to my Pension Fund .... but still recognise that Blair and Mandy are brilliant at what they do.

It marks me out as the intelligent one ... the ability to reason seperates me from the 'also rans' ;) :lol1:

alcazar 30 March 2010 09:28 PM

No, it mark you out as a muppet who continues to post inflammatory threads even he doesn't believe in. Give it a rest. It's now obvious you have a crush on Mandelson, just go away and fantasize over him, why don't you?

r32 30 March 2010 09:57 PM

Is this from the same gullible guy who thought the clocks went back over two weeks ago, just because some one told him they did!

He would believe anything!

You really are Gordon Brown in (a thinly veiled) disguise.

the latest idea of national care service is another boost to babyboomers that us young uns will have to pay for, whilst being left straddled with the national debt and pension deficits/liabilities.

vince cable seems the only one realise/admit future looming problems from what ive heard on radio, but im certainly no liberal.

labour have just exploded public sector to make sure they get more votes in future.

i dont think any political party is exhibiting the backbone required to get us out of the current/future mess whatsoever.

Interesting how they always accuse one of reading the Mail when they have not got an argument anyway!
