You've Got to be jokin'. Right?

Having recently purchased a UK STI. PPP. '06" Hawkeye.

What can I say? But.:nono:

Oh! Deary, deary me.

This is the most uninvolving car that I have ever owned.

My old Sierra 2.0ltr GT is streets ahead of fullfilment.

Of course the latest Scoobs are quicker.( And sooo.... what?).

I understand that this is the Scoobynet and that I should not be slagging "Our cars".

However I feel that regardless of aspirations/dreams or indeed, reality.

Subarus Imprezas. Are "In Fact".

A "Sad Old Beast".(SOB). Relying on its' reputation. Other than the reality of ownership.

That is to say. Sure you can buy them cheap.(WHY?)

Can you insure them( Group 20?)

You can mod them.

OK. (Can you afford it?)

Can you run them? (Of course . Everyone on here has an upgraded car? Regulary serviced. Running 99 Ron?)

How often? Do you meet a Ferrari?:?

Dream on.

Yous are F**ked.

When you buy. You will .......seriously

BTW. I used to own an STI 5 Type R. 4years ago.

They were nice then..

Moley 27 March 2010 09:58 PM

Best start modding it then.

Or sell it.

+Doc+ 27 March 2010 10:00 PM

Get a classic, new Imprezas are overweight

intergrale4x4 27 March 2010 10:01 PM

Go and buy an M3 and try driving it with the traction control off!! If you need to feel involved in driving a car. :)

Off Your Marks 27 March 2010 10:02 PM

Why did you buy it then? Surely some sort of test drive would have saved you all this misery...

richie001 27 March 2010 10:03 PM

If you don't like it then sell it.

sg72 27 March 2010 10:46 PM

As the story goes. Been there done that!

Scoobs are now Sad/Overated/expensive/So So Style.

And yes the "New" Scoob is going. (Am buying a deisel. for the wife and keeping my MR2 Turbo.) Yeh! cars we used to mock are now "So Far So Cool"

Not an "Old Fart""Midlife Crysis" Just observation?

Jeez! I feel sick.:fight:

pslewis 27 March 2010 10:47 PM

Classics are, and will always be, the true Impreza in spirit ..... it was so right, so in tune with the times, so desired and perfect.

Subaru have let things slip by chasing the sales figures of Focus/Golf .... it should remain as it was - for the motoring freaks! :thumb:

jh1 27 March 2010 10:50 PM

maybe you should try some anti depressants lol. sell your subaru and buy an old sierra for driving pleasure.:cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo:

wrx_jas 27 March 2010 10:57 PM

Should have saved a little more and bought a Spec C, I did:). Love what Ford did all those years ago, don't blame Subaru for your lack of research/knowledge.

53 27 March 2010 11:01 PM

I believe Rose tints are illegal ;)

pslewis 27 March 2010 11:02 PM

wrx jas

You didn't BROUGHT anything ........................... please, you BOUGHT it!

Terminator X 27 March 2010 11:10 PM

Do your research mate ... Spec C may have suited better. To come on here & slag them though is :cuckoo: Suggest you sell & feck orf.

If you feel this way, why did you buy one?

Other than finding this one uninvolving, the rest of your opinions/points above must have already been in your mind.

If you find them sad/overated etc. I really can't see why you bought one. Fair play, you didn't get what you expected, but surely a test drive would have saved you the hassle.

sg72 27 March 2010 11:36 PM

:?

Good Lord! Such a Partisan crowd.

I used to be there until I sussed out the Hype?

BTW. Andy F Bought my previous Scoob. After I had modded the F**k ot of it ('Cause He knew its potential)

Ermm.. Does that qualify me as being a Scoobyphile?

Perhaps not.

Yeh! Like you descenters have tried Modded MK2 Turbo MR2s.

Beleive me? Yous would SH1T yourselves.

More than likely, because the brakes are crap.

Other than that.

£ for £.

They are beyond reproach. As far as actual fun and driver involvement is concerned.

 Jacket on............

Not moaning as such. Just having been before and realising that rather than moving on.

The Niche market has become somewhat smaller.(Sort of like your brain perhaps?)

Of course. I should have realised that a newer car would have been more cr*p:wonder:.

Nope. I did try before I bought. (Nice family car.:thumb:) and so did my Scoobynut friend.(He liked the torque and the fact that it cruised at 80mph at 3000revs.:))

Whilst you are wallowing in you ever increasing expenditure. I will desist.;)

intergrale4x4 28 March 2010 12:47 AM

Drive it like this
YouTube - KEN BLOCK GYMKHANA TWO THE INFOMERCIAL

Must admit on a nice day with the T roofs out the MRs turbo is a pretty well balanced fun flying machine
Craig

Steve001 28 March 2010 12:53 AM

to be honest driver involvement/pleasure comes from the effort you put into it, i love my scoob and after 9 years and 3 of them the car still gives me a big grin :D

i'm still learning about the car and getting loads of fun at the same time :)

What exactly do you mean?(Spend 3 times the amount I spent on the Scoob?:cuckoo:)

If you drive an M3 BMW. then you surely have to drive within the atributes of the car.

I personally haven't driven one.(But have overtaken a few spirited driven ones.
I take it they have been TC off.
I.E. They have fish tailed all over the plaice;).)

Learning the car? Isn't an easy option nowadays AFAICS.

BTW. I was planning on buying a V8 M3 Next year. But the fact that I could buy the Scoob now, put me in this position.

That is; Forget it. I am glad I did.
