Hi folks.
Finally got the keys to me Scoob yesterday and need to get a Turbo guage sorted out. She came with a boost guage fitted (Well rolling around the cockpit actually). I had it removed, as it was not mounted and had nothing mountable on it. Looked at it today and a tad confused now. Bad point - Measures in Kg/Cm2 as opposed to the good old Psi that we all know. Good point - Backlit and the same guage sells in Demon Twits (Sorry, but they completely screwed me about once) for just over £200 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif. What I would like to know is, what do you guys think I should do with it? Get an 'A' pod for it and get it fitted again? Sell it, cos it ain't Psi displayed and get new guage and 'A' pod?? How on earth do you compare Psi against Kg/Cm2?? Sorry to go on, but split 50/50 about what to do.

Your gauge measurements are EXACTLY the same as reading in PSI and BAR, your gauge just reads in the metric equivalent unit (which is the same as Pounds Per Square Inch). Just ignore the fact that the unit is different, because the calculation is the same.

Shaun, thanks for your info. I knew about what you said, I was just weighing up whether it was worth the hassle of remember the equivalent PSI or BAR when reading from the guage. I still think that remembering that 1 Kg/cm2 = 14.2233 PSI is going to be a real pain. Call me old-fashioned but....

If you want a guage that reads in psi, I can recommend the autometer phantom & pod from scoobymania. The face is white with a red needle, and the pod fits in the corner of your dash next to the 'a' pillar. I had mine checked on well lane's rollers last weeekend and the guage was reading spot-on.
The whole lot comes in at less than £100, check scoobymania's website for exact prices.

Thanks Leigh. I had been considering that one. I don't suppose that the guage is backlit? Are any of the phantom ones that are backlit. The one nics thing about the GReddy is that it is backlit.

be careful with the phantom and ultra light gauges as they are not very accurate. they under read by 1-2psi. i have seen 3 including mine and they all had the same problem. how did well lane check your gauge ?

Why you so hellbent on having a PSI guage??? Bar measurement is as useable and recognised by everyone! To be honest it wouldn't make any difference if the guage was in bananas-----as long as you know it should be boosting to 10 bananas and no more etc http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif

Ignore last comment. Just ran David's (DJFish) conversion proggie that he sent me and they are as good as Identical!
Will get an 'A' Pod and fit it back in.
