Hi,
I have been looking underneath my steering wheel for the fabled ECU connectors. All I can see is a black T-shaped plug and another black socket. The plug has a black wire with a thin red stripe and the socket a black and red wire. Are these the connectors ? I didnt want to risk connecting them... |
There should also be a set of green connectors usually they are taped up.
Make sure when do the reset that car is at operating temp ie warmed up. Connect the connectors black-black green-green. Turn on ignition but do not start car yet. Hold down acclerator for a few secs. Then start car and drive for at least a minute keeping speed above 11mph at all times. stop car check engine light should be flashing at a steady rate of half a second. Turn car off and disconnect the connectors. Ecu is now reset. Mel. |
Mel,
What if I want to check for fault codes ? Does the engine have to be warm then ? I guess I would do a reset after looking at the fault codes |
Those Black ones are the Read Memory Connectors - The Green ones are the Test Mode (ECU Reset Ones)
Check my home page for full details on reading fault codes & ecu reset. Chris [Edited by Chris.Palmer - 3/26/2002 9:08:23 AM] |
