Hawkeye Spec D or Normal STI in Grey or Black
I'm after a Hawkeye Spec D, must be immaculate condition with low miles (under 40k preferably).
I would prefer an un-modified car, or PPP. (stage 1 mods are fine) I could also be interested in a normal Hawkeye STI, again, must be low miles & preferably standard or PPP Cash waiting for the right car, PM me with details. cheers |

Nice choice :thumb:

Spec D - low key is the key :lol1:

H&S Sports Cat, H&S Decat/deres Centres, STI BB, filter, plugs, pump. 335bhp/375ftlbs, MOT friendly and quiet as a mouse !:)
YouTube - Quiet Spec D... |
Very nice & just the sort of thing I'm after... are you selling it? :lol1:
|
Nope:D....
...But quick and quiet they are :thumb: easy and reasonably cheap to mod to a tidy level too. |
Gwaaaan! :D
I'm looking at this beauty but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to spunk that much money on what is going to be a "weekend" car. :wonder: How comfortable is yours on a run & are the gear ratios tall? |

Bit of a shock if I jump straight out of the V2 into the SpecD. Short ratios are fun, but the SpecD really is completely different. 4-5k in 5th is about 125 IIRC :Suspiciou Rapid and comfortable yes, get into 6th and it pulls and cruises lovely. With the alleged improved sound deadening in the SPecD I find it lovely and quiet in the cabin even with a Nurpsec S. Cabin is a nice place to be with dark carpets and leather interior.
Biggest niggles, and they are niggles, every impreza has them. Steering is very light and takes more driving than my classic. I found Whiteline Soild droplinks improved the cars tendency to move about. The standard droplinks are dynamic in that they have greater 360dg movement, not an improvement I enjoy. Seats aren't as sporty as earlier models, and the seating position is about an inch higher. Leather means you slide abit and a seatbelt lock is a good investment. STi suspension is like running on the spot in your seat, moreso if you add uprated arbs, braces etc. I have prodrive springs which I found much better but still bobbles like a cheap jumper ! DBW throttle is fine once you get used to it but depending on the map can be annoying. One of the best features is the DCCD auto. You'd have to be a total fcukwit to lose it with this switched on. With the additional yaw sensor it chucks power about and really keeps you good almost regardless of what you do lol. It would be a great weekend car, however, if you have come from a raw classic background, the last of the NewAges are going to be a hell of a culture shock in terms of driver experience. When I go out and have fun I jump in my V2:confused: |
Thanks for the reply, sounds like it is going to be a completly different animal to my classic, which is pretty raw, but not to the point where it can't be driven every day.
I guess I need to go & test drive a few. |

I would also be interested in a facelift blobeye sti, must be low mileage & mint condition.
I have cash waiting. Cheers |
Jon, as a prospective buyer what's your budget expectation for a mint mildly uprated MY06 10k miler ?:) I am not selling, yet, but am interested in perceived £value atm.
|
I'm prepared to spend 15k on the right car.

I was in Graham Walkers in Chester today and they have a SpecD in the showroom, £13,494, suppose you could negotiate down to £12,800?? if you have hard cash and no trade-in :)
2006 06 Reg*SUBARU Impreza 2.5 WRX STi Spec D* BTW with your 15K buget you could use the change for a remap :D |
That looks like what I am after & a good price too, cheers Steve.

What about a JDM A Line? I thought you wanted a Type-R :wonder:
