HTC Hero - any good?

Jenny has taken a liking to them, her friend has one and she is convinced it is her next phone.

Couple of things,

Is it easy to use, menus/os
Battery life ok - will it stay on for more that 48 hrs between charges
MP3 player any good - i am tired of not finding my ipod where i left it;)

are there any serious faults or reasons not to get one?

She has a motorola V3 which she has had for 5 years or so and the battery is just about fuffed.

i have the HTC TATTOO mate and to be honest its a fantastic the quality is outstanding and very easy to use with some great apps for it as well, a mate of mine has the hero and he swears it is better then the iphone :thumb: so i would go for it :)

i looked at the the htc range they look quite good.

only downside i found was that the screen colour/pixle quality it's less than half of most of the other phones on the market.

HTC HD2 Smartphone - Not specified - WCDMA (UMTS) / GSM - Black

This would be a better option

hero gets a good write up in lots of places. 2 friends have them, both love, 1 prefers over his old iPhone (clearly deluded)

I have the hero after an insurance replacement.......its a bit complicated inmo and am only just getting used to it after about 2 weeks of use.

On the whole i think its a great bit of kit.......however the touch screen sometimes seems a bit slow and it did crash the other day..!!!

Its nowhere near as responsive or easy to use as my misses iphone 3gs..Still has the same crappy photo quality though.
