My mate has these seats in his escort cosworth and have to say they are the nuts....

His weigh 6.5 kgs though...i know this because we where checking out the fia label on them this weekend gone.....but i know he paid £1800 quid each for them!!!!

frayz 17 March 2010 09:49 PM

I weighed mine mate and it was 4.4kg. The label on my seat says 4.5kg.. either way its daft light!

rooferman 17 March 2010 10:05 PM

His are defo the Aramide version....its a Carbon/kevlar mix..

Sparco Prodrive seats.
Got them on ebay.
Not sure but they would not suit anyone over a 32" waist.
The side mounts are mounted on to a subframe that i butchered from an old set of seats.
Got them for just over £400 the pair. :)
Not sure of the weight but they are a dam site lighter than the standard seats.

Probably the best mod i have done to the car.

My Prodrive carbon kevlar seats.

They are made by Recaro (based on the Profi SPA) for Prodrive so you can't really buy them. I was lucky enough to be in the right place, right time and having the cash at hand.

Very narrow and very light.. about 4.5kg each.

Not as hardcore as yours but then I drive like a girl :lol1:

Sabelt 4 points to be added with the harness bar if I can find one.

frayz 18 March 2010 01:25 PM

Best bit about mine is not having to look at my passengers etc :D

Do they have a function to prevent you listening to your passenger as well? That would be helpful when the missus is in the car ;)

what are fixed buckets like to live with??? car is not a daily but wouldn't want back ache after 20 mins driving..........

frayz 19 March 2010 12:19 AM

My seat is stunning, It holds you so well that you have less fatigue because it holds you rather than you holding yourself.

So so so nice to drive with.

I'm not taking the p1ss here or anything

But do you drive that on a daily basis?
i.e. every time you sit in drivers seats do you put a harness on?

That must be the biggest pain in the hole.

Youve been on here from 2002 and you dont know about Frayz car, do you never go in the projects section :norty:

frayz 19 March 2010 05:26 PM

Lol, molegrips were there when i was making the mounts. Used them as clamps to hold parts together while i marked items up etc.

And yes it can be daily driven with harnesses etc. Its not my daily drive so i dont care either way.

Cobra Misano S Carbon

Available from loads of places
Don't know what size, but they are more snug than standard classic seats.
Mounted on subframe that bolts to original mounts.
£550ea new for the FRP backed ones, not sure how much the Carbon ones are. I got mine second hand.
Not sure on weight, but they are heavier than standard which I'm not too pleased about.
No FIA approval.

They are recliners and they're not a bad seat, I wouldn't get a set new for how much they are, as better seats are around. Sorry for the pics, poor camera on phone.
