No doubt they set a couple aside for Pete when he finished his shift collecting trollies ;)

£199 for a reason, its a pile of sh1te :)

Coffin Dodger 16 March 2010 10:13 AM

Intel Celeron T3000 1.80GHz

Hmmmm, even at £199 I'd say it was expensive :(

Sorry Pete, not the bargain you thought it was. Very outdated.

+1 I could no more buy a desktop or laptop from a supermarket then cut my knob off.

The components will be crap. The loaded software will be crap and only work for 30 days. You won't get any discs (not even the OS disc). And if it breaks no one will give a monkeys.

A neighbour bought a Tesco PC. He was a bit of an imbecile and managed to complete screw it up in less than 24 hours. The way the OS had been loaded was terrible and in the most obscure way (things that you take for granted missing etc)

Horrible bit of kit.

This is a bargain, and having just built one I can say it's a lovely little machine.

Acer Aspire Revo Desktop PC - Desktops at Ebuyer

Price has gone up £20 from last week but it's still a cracker.

Leslie 16 March 2010 12:41 PM

Is that one for each hand Pete?

It is ... and I use my cocklink on the desktop PC ;)

I'm very impressed with these ... they come with all discs, detailed manual, 12 months warranty .... excellent!! :D

ChefDude 16 March 2010 02:35 PM

i'm still not regretting ordering a macbook pro for x10 what you paid Pete ;)

btw, you don't get discs with Vaios and my macbook pro will have 1280x800 res - but we'd all still prefer to buy those more expensive machines :wonder:

I'm tempted by one of these. I work from home and use my PC that's got 3 HD's, uber spec gfx card etc etc and I don't need hardly any of the horsepower it has to use AutoCAD. I just think it's using far more electricity than I need to as it's on for at least 12 hours a day. Plus it's a noisy beast!
Mind you, during the cold snap it's kept the study toasty warm :lol1::lol1:

The fact that they come with all the discs is a good start alright.

It's brilliant for us old folks, Les .... we don't want to play little silly goblin games on ours ... just internet and the odd look at an ankle or two from the 20's ;)

It's worth it for the noise reduction on it's own. Even if you have to fire up the beast on occasion you're on a winner. I'll let you know how robust they are in a few weeks.

I picked up an Eeetop at the same time, another good machine for the cost and intended purpose.
