Fuel Pressure/fuel carbon canister purge system

Right, some might of read the smell of fumes i get in the cabin only at full throttle/boost etc, basically a smell of fumes, kinda like raw petrol but not as bad as at when at the pumps filling up,but a weaker smell, anyway, been down the road of VTA dump valve/exhaust leaks, nothing can be smelt at idle when under the bonnet or under the car whilst its running/revved to around 3k still no smells from anywhere, someone suggested the fuel pump area

now,i traced the piping of the carbon canister and found the return pipe for the tank 9the vapour one not actual fuel return),i blew down it and got pressure coming back out of it,then i removed the fuel filler tank cap and did the same,no pressure back thru the pipe

so,can the vapour system get blocked and could it under pressure of high boost be chuffing out the fuel pump gasket area ?

clutchin at straws i know but ????

cheers

This is probably a very stupid question but have you replaced the fuel filter ?

I had a 'very' strong smell of petrol on my car when driven hard, replaced the fuel filler and the problem disappeared !

Might have just been a coincidence but you never know ?
