Window washer help

I've got an issue with my window washers. If I press the little button on the steering stalk the water squirts out the wet stuff, but if I pull the stalk the wipers do their 3 strokes, but no longer squirts.

May sound like a stupid question, but if somethings not right I'm not happy :wall:

Ive checked fuses and all seem ok. Is this a common fault with the stalks failing, or have I missed something?

Any help is appreciated

What year car is it? It sounds more like the wipers are not being operated from the push button as on my bugeye pulling the stalk just gives a wipe cycle(s) foir the duration you pull the stalk back.

Thats just how it is with the classics. The button to squirt.

It's a MY97. It used to squirt with the pulling of the stalk, I swear down it did!

Mine doesn't. It's a 98.

Hmmm, must have it wrong then. Sorry guys

Had a look again this morning and on the stalk itself it does say 'Pull Mist' so I pull and it no longer mists... As it did previously. I'll figure it out soon.

LOL @ "Pull mist":D

I THINK it means pull to REMOVE misting on the ouside.

My 98 car does that, plus if I press for a squirt, it does one or two wipes too, you can't just squirt water and NOT wipe.

Are you getting confused with that? I can see why the designer would want you to wipe away any water you've squirted on the screen, but NOT why he would want you to squirt a screen that just needs wiping?

Whatever lol. Thanks
