Very Nice .....

Brother-in-Law came around this afternoon ....
.
.
.
.
.
.
..... in his brand new 3.0 Litre V6 Jaguar XF

Bloody hell ... it's like a Rolls Royce inside, cream leather, the air vents turn around when engine started .... really fancy piece of kit.

He looked at the options list and said, "Yes please - put everything on it!"

Flash git!!

Beautiful car ... makes my 10 year old Scooby and 15 year old MX5 look, well, OLD!!

Myles 13 March 2010 08:42 PM

I wasnt sure about those XFs when I saw them, but what a car they are!

I love these XF's. Maybe consider for next car in 18 months or maybe i'll be a bit young for one at 27

bioforger 13 March 2010 09:04 PM

He bought it new? what an idiot lol

Luminous 13 March 2010 09:48 PM

Only 3.0 V6, going to be quite slow for a car of that size :(

dpb 13 March 2010 09:52 PM

Lincoln IIRC. :D
You can pick up a fully loaded 4.2 SC for 44k if you look in the right places ;)

Leslie 14 March 2010 12:17 PM

One of the original series of STi's is a particularly good car, well built from the engineering sense too.

Jaguars have always produced nice cars too.

There you go :D

Trout 14 March 2010 01:54 PM

I really like this car - and yes it is very luxurious inside and a blast to drive.

Quite slow though - the 3.0 I went out in only did 0-60 in 5.9s ;)

Butty 14 March 2010 03:24 PM

The diesel 3 litre XF with sports pack is just :norty:

It may "only" do a 0-60 in 6 secs but once on the move it will embarrass many a Scoob.
Interior is lush and full of gadgets and electrotickery, which can cause a few niggles.
Driver position and balance are spot on, although the steering is a bit soft.
I tried to justify one for the company this year and failed, but hopefully it'll appear in 2011.

Stunning things, Jag really turned it round after the S Type which was too retro, case in point is that 27 year old blokes are considering one, not 55 year olds only.

Trout 14 March 2010 07:14 PM

Sadly I am nearer the latter than the former and we are thinking of getting one to replace the 530d.

The Jag dealer people are MUCH nicer than the BMW dealer people.

they say that about porsche dealers as well !! :)

Matteeboy 15 March 2010 11:34 AM

It's a great car - the new 3.0 diesel is a cracker - 275bhp (less than the 35d unit) but 445lbs/ft (more than the 35d unit). I quite fancy an LR Disco with that unit but it would break down constantly.

austinwrx 15 March 2010 11:51 AM

I'd have one in an instant, but just don't want the cost and running costs.

scooby is ridiculous as it is.

lovely lovely car.

stuart2008sti 15 March 2010 01:00 PM

A little bit small inside but a very nice car and the dealer would not let me test drive one aswell ,choose the e class as much more room and more toys.

Butty 15 March 2010 06:53 PM

The running costs are very low while under warranty. Just a £250 service every year and tyres.
43 mpg appears to be a bit optimistic though.
I was also impressed by the auto 6 spd gearbox. Nice adaptive trickery with smooth, quick changes and paddles if you want fun.
Headroom was a bit low getting in and out was my only real complaint.
The parking pack is an essential option as rear visibility is zero. Again parking guidance trickery makes things a doddle.
