Do different makes of Homeplugs work with each other?

Been very happy with the two homeplugs I bought from Broadbandbuyer a couple of years ago. However, I now want another one but they don't stock the same ones anymore (in fact I think they've disappeared completely) so can I just buy another 200Mbps homeplug from a different brand and it'll work with the others? or am I stuck having to replace them all?
If it's the latter then I've well and truly learnt my lesson about buying cheap, buying twice! :(

Yes you can you can't use 14Mb and 85Mb Plugs with 200Mb plugs though

Well I'm not having a great 'tech' day today!
My new homeplugs arrived today. Gleefully connected up my new ReadyNAS to it and..... nothing.
Swapped the new homeplug with one of my old ones and it connects straight away.
Will have a swap around later, perhaps putting one of the new ones on the router will allow the old and new to communicate.

I couldn't even get two Netgears to find each other, launched them and got Solwise instead.

Did you go through the pairing up process for the new set to the existing AP plug?
Had to do this with 4 Comtrend plugs - it wasn't as easy as just PnP.

Hi Nick, no I didn't cause my existing plugs haven't got a switch for doing that :( (yes they are really that basic :lol1: ) I've still got the new ones, I might just buy another couple and be done with it.
