306 D Turbo window problem

Got a 306 for running around in and the electric front windows don't work.[they did last week]

There is no power to the switch and the fuse is in tact.
The passenger side switch doesn't work either and the rear windows are manual.
There is no clicking from a relay when the switches are operated.

Any ideas?

Have you checked for power at the fuse? You could push the fuse spade connectors back on my old 306, and not make a connection.

There may be a wire break in the door shut loom.

probably the wires broken in the rubber bit between the door and and the footwell, mine done it and was a pain in the arse there.

Mine did exactly the same, if you wanted to close the front passenger window you actually had to open the door before the window would close as there was a damaged cable in the loom..

I always thought that they had a design floor in the loom bacause the loom was connected door side rather than at the shell side it would be so much easier to fix if you were able to remove the loom from the door rather than having to try to repair it on the car..

Although if it does turn out to be one of the switches i have got a couple of spare ones still in my garage if needed..

if the car has a few miles on it and the door interconnecting loom has not been replaced then that is probably the culprit, these are approximately £75 each from a dealer, then you need them fitting :( so double that price.

Both sides aren't working which made me think it was further back than the door wiring loom?

On yours do you have controls for both front windows on the drivers side? if so you could have a fault on the drivers side thats causing the problem to be on both sides.

There is a double switch on the drivers side and single on pass side.

Last week, the drivers side drivers switch worked, but the passenger switch on the same control didn't work, but the passenger side switch did work.
Now, none of the switches work which is why I doubt the looms have gone simultaneously.:wonder:
