newage rear fog switch illumination

to all newage owners. does your rear fog light switch illuminate ? just noticed that mine doesnt. tried a new switch and still no illumination. but they operate the actual rear fog just fine, :wonder:

Nope a light on the dash turns on, only the front has an illuminating switch, good old Subaru continuity :)

HT04 10 March 2010 10:39 AM

so ive wasted time and money on a problem that never really existed. is that what you are telling me.:mad::mad::mad: :D

Quite possibly yes :( i took my whole dash out and apart only to find there is no front fog light indicator in the binacle (I thought the bulb may have gone) *grumble :D

Yep mine doesn't work either. This is right up there with the "bright" switch phenomenon

mrmarc 10 March 2010 12:36 PM

the switch should be backlit green...well it is on my bugeye.
i used a bulb from maplins.
can send the ref.number later if u want?

SC008Y_MAD 11 March 2010 11:09 AM

Yes, newgae front and rear fog light buttons should illuminate when the headlights are on. When you press the button on another light should illuminate telling you that that particular auxiliary is on.

My dads illuminating light has gone and he asked Subaru, who said that the parts (bulb) are no longer available from Subaru. They are going to look at what type of bulb it is and my dad is going to see if he can find the bulb online.

mrmarc 11 March 2010 11:32 AM

use bulb bt43 (12v wire lamp) from maplins £1.09 each.each switch uses 2.
1 for backlight ,1 for switch on light.
takes a few mins to fit once the switch is out.
job done.
also for referanc its the same bulb for the head light hight adjusting switch.

alcazar 11 March 2010 01:53 PM

As above. DO ensure you do the job inside, over a worksurface or a large shhet of white paer, small parts ARE involved.
you need a pair of tweezers and some small sidecutters, or sharp small scissors. Takes about 5 minutes, though, that's all.

How strange, I noticed a few nights ago that my rear foglight switch doesn't illuminate!
Must be a common problem!

Rick_Noel 11 March 2010 02:40 PM

Sorry Dan i think i misunderstood the first question! I had no idea that my foglight switch should illuminate! will explore further...

HT04 12 March 2010 12:53 AM

Anyone know what the bulb is for the hazard switch?

Neanderthal 16 March 2010 08:38 AM

HT04, How do you get to the bulb? does the switch pop off or do you have to get at it from behind?

Razorwrx1 16 March 2010 09:23 PM

I just thought thats how they were! Strange, i'll check my Bug and all.
