I can see a tow bar getting ever closer to the back of that hearse....
;)

Just go and buy a caravan - you know you want to. :lol1:

Zip - 335d + towing + any grass/mud/slippery surfaces = comedy

There's a towbar on the little car for light towing duties.

Stilover - yep they have them but try driving one in Cornwall instead of continental Europe/other F1 destinations. No fun at all. I'd rather stay in hotels TBH. Will borrow my folks old T25 camper if/when needed for now!

well if yr going to chuck 40k on a T5 yr mental. buy a decent motor home instead.

if you don't want a huge one, get a transit, sprinter etc based one.

20K on a T4 or T5 makes sense.

anyway, now you've seen a vw conversion, you can see why I suggest self conversion.

electric rising roof- for fecks sake whats the point of that ???

also the conversion companies are worth travelling miles for, given the cost of the vehicle.

have you noticed yet a lot of camper vans only have 2 gas hobs, but no grill ?

yr california will have been like that. its down to german tuv regs.

well a cooker and no grill is a waste of time !!!!!!!!!!!

seriously - buy a decent LWB T5 or T4 and get someone like calypso campers (google it) to convert it.

you'll be laughing then. yr own custom designed/built camper is far cooler.
trust me, I've had 20 years involved with camper vans.

and I hate caravans with a passions and all things like that. I like a camper for remote/wild camping, festivals, caving trips/cycling trips etc etc. not sitting in a field, watching telly watching my electric roof go up and down.

also if you fancy being a surfer- yr better off with a fixed hightop so you can lash yr boards to the roof, as oppose to inside.

ok- bring them back in if yr parking somewhere dodgy.

Cheers Austin - some interesting reading there! Some of the conversions (Bilbo) actually cost more than a California but have "proper" cookers and fridges at least!

Don't fancy being a surfer - I have been at it, sometimes competing, for 20 years now ;-) "Proper" boards fit inside (6ft) no problem. I can even get two in the Jimny!
