Coilovers fitting tomorrow - urgent question ride height measurement?
Coilovers going on tommorrow
1. How exactly is ride height measured? When someone says for example - 40mm ride height. What does 40mm EXACTLY refer to in terms of measurement from point A to point B? Some said the following The accepted measurement is from the wheel arch edge to the centre of the hub, measured vertically.... but if you move the spring seat 40mm you achieve the same effect. My mate has gone out and measured that distance on my car and it is 350mm So how is the ride height measured? 2. What is a recommened ride height? (BC coilovers on a classic fast road and track use) Thanks Steve |
got the same coilovers on my classic mate- I have tarmac set up - think it i 225mm and 235mm front / back - will measure in the moring for you.
Measured from edge of arch to center of wheel. You will love the car on the BC@s when you get it fitted - you getting ALK / bushes and drop links ? |
When I had my coilovers fitted RCMS looked at the driving I was doing and the potholes here in Cumbria and advised me accordingly :)
Who is fitting them ? Shaun |
Thanks ade
My mate has done it for me today. But I cant be there. I worked. ARBs droplinks and Anti lift kit all went on at the same time and he has the prodrive settings. So will call him now and see how it all went Thanks for the replies |
I know it's too late now, but you'll want to add at least 15mm to the height as they come out the box
|
yep i was right - measured them and they are 335 rear and 325 front. ~I also have the rear shocks 2 clicks softer than the front. Fronts are on 14 from hard and rear 16 from hard.
