Name me a famous American Graham
Apart from the Golden Graham breakfast cereal, can anyone think of any famous American called Graham (or even Graeme)?

Golden was the 1st thing that came into my head but how about Billy:D |
Alexander Graham Bell - although he seemed to live in a variety of US and Canadian (and Scottish) places - I think you'd still call him a famous American.

Only one american with Graham in their name I want to get close to

I was only really thinking about 1st names. So far you've only come up with one and on that one I can't say I'd ever heard of the Governor of California prior to Arnie and he doesn't apparently call himself Graham anyway.
I can think of loads of UK/Irish first name Grahams/Graemes, but not a single American one. Curiously it seems to be a popular name for sportsmen here, so if you want to give your son a head-start on the way to sporting fame, just call him Graham/Graeme. Graham Green (Author) Graham Hill (F1 champ) Graeme Souness (ex Liverpool) Graeme Swann (Test cricketer) Graham Gooch (Test cricketer) Graham Onions (Test cricketer) Graeme Thorpe (Test cricketer) Graham Norton (TV) Graham Kelly (ex FA) Graham Taylor (ex FA) Graham Roberts (ex Chelsea & England) Graham Le Saux (ex Chelsea & England) Graham Rix (ex Arsenal & England) Graeme Sharp (ex Everton) Graeme Garden (ex Goodie) Graham Dott (snooker champ) Graham Bell (ex skier) Graham Chapman (ex Monty Python) |
On the flip side, you don't find many people called Randy in the UK. :)

I'm not saying there aren't any Grahams in America: just that there aren't any famous ones.
As for LPB's list of American Grahams? I bet any regular American would struggle to recognise more than a couple of those names, especially this one... :lol1: ■GRAHAM NELSON, Computer Programmer And what's England's Graham Chapman and Ireland's Graham Norton doing in that list? |
I have noticed over the years Graham Nortons accent becoming more mid-atlantic. But he`s still a gayer.....
