Anyone else know that MPs get medals just for visiting war zones? if you did or didnt and think its wrong get to http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/notompmedals/ and sign up

I did not know that and I think it is shamefully wrong. It denigrates the true meaning of those medals.

Yup Campaign medals are for those who particpated/fought in that war or battle. Medals of Honour/Distiction/Valour are just that for outstanding bravery/sacrifice for king/queen and country.

Unless the MP is entitled due the medal(s)to the above reasons then they have no right to be given medals and any MP's with any sort of decency or marals would not accept the medal(s) as they hadn't earned the right to them.

This all started where an MP bragged he was going to a war zone. Some smart @rse retorted with "So what. What do you want, a Medal?"

And there we go. :D

Seriously though, it is outrageous they should get medals just for visiting. Now, stick a gun in their hands and make them fight for several months, do something heroic, and then, yes, give them a medal. Otherwise, Fcukoff.
