gonna get garage to listen to it at next service... coz they should have the car then from cold... else its too hard to reproduce...

anybody else got the sound file.

my 93 wrx sounds knocky when its cold. once warm its fine.

seems to knock when cold when you put the engine under a bit of load. i,e reversing out of the garage when cold

think its either

a) tappet
b) piston slap
c) early stages of bearing failure

Very difficult to diagnose as car is off the road for winter and would have to be left over night at a subaru specialist which are all 10s of miles away from me
