is this true or not?
 
ok ive recently bought a 6k ecu from a v2 sti cus ive been told its a cheap mod for my uk spec classic, but.................. ive just seen a guy on ebay selling a chipped d7 ecu which is the standard ecu i took out of mine? so have i wasted spending money getting a 6k ecu or should i of chipped my old as i was told before standard d7 ecus' can not be chipped!!

any info would be great guy/girls! :)

sorry dont mean D7 ecu i mean a V7

The early ecus 92-96 can be chipped or have a remappable daughterboard fitted.

I believe Scott has wound up his PP concern. Your best bet is getting hold of one of his chips pre-installed into a 4-plug ECU on here or eBay. Expect to pay around £80. But it'll be a simple swap out of your original ECU - sorted!
