Anyone done rear disks/pads on a 172?
...just wondering if there is anything to watch out for. I know they have abs rings and bearings, but does this change what looks like a simple job? :thumb:

I did my front ones, but not the back.

Found this advice, dunno if it helps? Changing rear discs and pads.. help! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm fitting new discs and pads all round on my 172 cup. I should be able to do the front's no problem, but someone mentioned to me that in order to do the rears I'll need a wind-back tool. Is it necessary or is there a way around it? If not, any idea's where I can get one? I don't fancy forking out another £70 for labour after paying over £320 for parts already lol. THe fronts can be pushed back in with a G clamp, on the fron calipers theres even a slot in the middle of the caliper for access. Make sure you get the rear pads the right way round. davebem View Public Profile Send a private message to davebem Send email to davebem Visit davebem's homepage! Cheers for that :thumb:

I've done em, but it was a loooooong time ago. From memory the ABS rings were easy but the bearings were fiddly. I vice and some blocks of wood to prevent damage worked well :D
