Next round of mods! Revolution here i come!

Well having missed out on cheap PFF7's as i spent too much time making my mind up I have finally got my next round of mods sorted.
I am off to Revolution for some Eibach coilovers, 22mm rear roll bar, Oz 18x8 Allegerita rims with Vredestein Sessanta 225/40/18 rubber, a fitted TPMS kit from Tyresure, and of course not forgetting nitrogen fill and black McGard and black other wheel nuts. Oh, last but not least, a fast road geo set up! LOL.
The worst thing about the day out for me, is taking the wife to The Metro Centre! Hahahaha.
I look forward to meeting the lads at Revolution and the drive home with the new setup! :thumb:

On the rear roll bar, it will be adjustable. What setting will be harder than the OEM one? I just wanted the non-adjustable one but they were out of stock.

On a WRX the middle setting is a good compromise for road use, on an STI the suspension is stiffer so use the stiffest setting.

HTH

P.S. It's always good to be able to fine tune the handling to suit your driving style, IMHO.

Sounds like your wallet is about to be dented :). It would be great to hear how you get on and what you think of the Eibach Coilovers, I am looking at going the same route, but it would be good to hear some feedback compaired to the WRX springs.

I currently have eibach springs with OEM dampers. I still expect a nice change as my dampers have now done 91k miles! LOL
the springs have also been on for a long time but i bet the dampers are worn due to their age.
I will gladly post up my thoughts when i get back as the drive home will be a nice 150 mile one with some country roads thrown in! haha.
Oh, ahh, i forgot, i will not be able to test em fully, the tyres will be brand new as well. bummer!
there is a big enough difference to notice the change to Eibach springs from standard. Firmer ride, etc, etc.
I cannot wait to be honest, new toys and all that.

Hi MaDaSS,

When are you booked in for all the work? It sounds like it will be a totally different car on the drive home :thumb:.. I have Whiteline springs fitted at the moment, and yes definately firmer than the standard WRX springs which is fine by me. I also run a Whiteline rear ARB (Middle setting, as the first one was too soft)
I have just cleared 40k in the car, and the struts are not happy, I think 2 are on their way out with the dreaded knock, and with the price of standard replacements, this seems a better route, but it would be great to hear what you think of the ride quality.
Thanks
Ian

75 miles to scrub the tyres in, that's half the Peninnes...

Nip to Tan Hill pub for a bite and then head down towards Leeds....

Hmm, ya know what dunx that is actually a good idea! LOL
If only me missus was not such a wuss in my car. Well, not really the car, its probably my driving style! :D
But what a plan that is..........................

MaDaSS 25 February 2010 03:34 PM

Well I'm sat at Revolution watching the final alignment tweaks being done. The missus is bored! Lol. They found a broken front spring which is a downer as they were Eibachs and I was gonna sell em. Also found a worn rear shock on the same side but rear end. So a job with an excuse to be done after all! New wheels look mint. Cannae wait for the drive home :)

Dubster 26 February 2010 11:35 AM

Sounds like getting the new wheels and suspension is completely justified as you were replacing worn out items..;) It is a shame that one of the springs was broken, quite a suprise as Eibachs are normally quite robust...

It will be great to hear what you think of your new setup, and of course the picture :)..
