Proposed engine build advice?

Ok, need some advice, since the garage I usually use has closed and its not likely that they’ll be open again, I have to start looking to source another specialist that can build my desired engine for my car. So this thread is for the specialist engine builders of Scoobynet, if you could offer some advice or some sort of an estimate on cost of the build….I understand that an estimate is just that so I’ll only use prices as a guide.

The plan for the car with the engine build is to be able to safely survive a few track days and some spirited driving as well as long haul journeys such as continental driving etc. As I don't know the actual condition of the engine I would to prefer to assume the worst and build up from there to be on the safe side....if that makes sense.

I would like to keep my original block as it is the original engine but would look into a swap given the right circumstances.

The car is a 1995 Impreza WRX, currently standard except for a Walbro 255 fuel pump, Blitz NUR Spec RX exhaust and ITG panel filter.

Proposed Outlines for the Engine:
• 350BHP
• 450Ib/ft Torque
• Capable of 500bhp - 550Ib/ft

The drivetrain will also be upgraded but would like some advice on the best upgrades I can use.

I’ve planned from the start to be using a SIMTEK ECU as I was impressed with the level of options available, mainly the Antilag but would also like to know of peoples experiences with the SIMTEK ECU and it's limitations...

It’s more the engineering side of that I am more interested in. What would be the best (not necessarily the cheapest!) ways to achieve the above figures?

Anyone have any ideas on the best way to go about the build, what parts work well together etc?

If you really aim to hit those figures for the torque on a road car that only runs 350BHP then you are probably going to need a 2.5 bottom end.
