Subaru Finance

Hi all,

Well after a few years of owning different cars I'm finally going to come back to Subaru and buy myself a MY06 STi. My question is I'm going to buy from a dealer and the monthly payments through Subaru is only £3 a month more than a personal loan. Is there any disadvantages of having Subaru Finance over a personal loan other than it feels a little bit like they own the car the whole time you drive it?

a personal loan means you can sell the car at anytime if need be rather than stuck with it through finance circumstances change all the time it would be personal loan for me matey

Don't even think about doing Subaru finance run by sharks that areThe Funding Corporation. Go to your bank and get a personal loan then you can easily sell should you need to in the future.

By the time you go the full term with the FC you could have paid for Italian or German sporting exotica

Thanks for the info. So if I wanted to sell the car after 2 years could I not sell it privately and pay the remainder of the finance back?

Has anyone got a personal loan recently and if so who did they use. I have a top credit rating but not sure how hard it is to get a loan at the mo.

You won't find any private buyers willing to buy a car with finance owing on it. You may find a dealer willing to take a chance, but you will get screwed.

Tesco's did a good finance package for me, and you get club card points ;)

I'm popping down my bank today but going by their online calculator their payments are £18 a month more than most others. Hopefully they can give me a better rate as my credit score is very good.

Will check Tesco's now to see what the deal is.

Black Horse any good then? Is that Lloyds?

Well I just went down the bank and am now £15,000 richer. :D

I have also called this dealer and put a deposit down on this. Seems like a top price for such low mileage. It also has Prodrive springs and exhaust but no PPP

Does this mean that Black Horse have swollowed up the Funding Corporation or have they just taken over and the scummy scouse FC are still in business elsewhere?

Dealer Finance also comes with set-up fees and sometime exit fees ..... a bank is always better.
