How many wonders of the world have you seen?

I was just 'Stumbling' around the internet when I came across Hillman Wonders of the World and it made me think that in 46 years on this planet I've only ever managed to see seven out of that list of 100, two of which are here in Britain which is quite pathetic really :o

I've never even seen the Eiffel Tower  It's made me think that I really do need to get out there and see some more of the awesome stuff on this planet before I'm too old.

My list is:

  • Grand Canyon
  • Acropolis
  • Stonehenge
  • Santorini
  • British Museum
  • Yosemite NP
  • San Francisco
Plus I've seen Matterhorn from a plane :thumb:

It's really quite an embarrassingly small list :o

Heres mine according to the list, not bad for being only 29 i guess. Isnt there a list of the seven natural wonders, engineering wonders and modern wonders too?.

Hoover Dam
Grand Canyon
Yosemite National Park
Stonehenge
Louvre
Prague - Old Town
Eifel Tower
British Museum
San Francisco

Ive seen them all.

Tv is a wonderful invention :thumb:

serioiusly though, it would cost and absolute fortune to work even a third of the way through that list.

ahar 07 February 2010 09:54 PM

24 for me

Pretty hard to see a few of them though.

Mecca - only if you're a Muslim as non-Muslims are banned

Kashmir Valley - dodge the artillery shells the indians and pakistanis fire at each oter periodically. Oh and try and not look like a foreigner on their way to some of the alleged terror training camps on te Pakistani side. The CIA maight want to have a chat...

Easter Island - a real bugger to get to. When I wanted to go there it was one flight a week and they were booked weeks and weeks in advance. They only go from Santiago (capital of Chile)

We've done
Pyramids of Egypt
Karnak
Nile River Cruise
Egyptian Museum
Valley of the Kings
Abu Simbel
Stonehenge
British Museum

All of the Egypt stuff, we did for our honeymoon, we added Cairo & the

pyramids, as we had spare time in the second week staying in Karnak.

Without a doubt, they are visually stunning & awe inspiring. Not to

mention somewhat unnerving, when your in one of the burial chambers,

and you realise just how much weight is above you !!

Definitely one of the 7 wonders of the world.
