Bolt spins trying to remove 2006 sti droplinks

Hello folks, any help here much appreciated.

I have a 2006 sti. I Bought a 22 mm anti roll bar upgrade. Trying to take the old one off, the bolt turns with the nut where the drop link is attached to the car. I have WD40'd it up to no avail, how do I turn just the nut allowing me to remove the original antiroll bar, and have i done any damage by rotating the bolt?

Cheers in advance,

Rick.

You normal use a allen key in the centre to hold it from spinning

Fronts have allen key holes rears don't IIRC. Mine were a pain to get off you need to be carefull not to split/compromise the grease boot.

Chhers for the replies. I was thinking about using a small G-clamp end to end on the bolt. I am guessing it is either a rose joint or a the same as a track rod end on the drop link? I don't think there is an allen key hole.

One of those "half-hour jobs" that will end up taking all weekend no doubt

There are allen key holes in the middle, though I removed mine with a small pair of grips before realising!

On the rear droplinks on my bugeye you need a socket on one end and a spanner on the other

On my MY06 STi there are NO allen key holes in the rear drop links, I am looking at it right now. The inside washer however is a flat sided washer which allows you to slide in a thin spanner to secure.:)

Ah! That sounds promising. I was surprised that the design was seemingly so poor. Will have a look in the morning. Cheers again.

Spot on, flat sided washer. Was a piece of piss. Now trying to manoeuvre the old bar out without taking a wheel off.
