How Long Have You Owned Your Scooby?

I feel like one of the few these days.

I bought my Impreza in May 2000, it still sits proudly on my drive - used daily.

That's 10 years with the same Scooby and it's standard bar a backbox.

Anyone out there, can better that? :smug:

scatty 02 February 2010 08:52 PM

nope 3 years for me.......

i wish it was still standard, all that wasted money.....lol.....

but still love driving it every day, never bored of her...

Mus 02 February 2010 08:54 PM

3 years but going to be forced to sell as I have a lot of cash tied up in mine

KINGTIGER 02 February 2010 08:55 PM

I've just had mine over two years now. And tochwood has not let me down accept for a few prangs due to other road users.

She is used everyday and love it.

JonMc 02 February 2010 08:55 PM

Not me, only 4 years (from 1 Mar) and certainly not standard, wasn't when I bought it and even more mods now with a train of them coming through the tunnel:D

360ste 02 February 2010 08:56 PM

7 years of ownership and workedit up from 265 bhp (std) to currently 416 bhp. On a 02 STi with 97k on the clock.

Gordo 02 February 2010 08:56 PM

April 2001 for me - a P1 that's now mostly tucked away in the garage after using it every day for the first few years - it has had a few mods (brakes, airflow, mapping for UK fuel mostly, after it blew the first engine). Love it - no intention of ever selling it.

Gordo

gallois 02 February 2010 08:56 PM

Beat you by a few months! :D
My WRX arrived in the UK in December 1999 and I picked it up on 4th Jan 2000.
I had to immediately drive to France and back via the Chunnel to register it as a Personal Import and then wait about 3 weeks for the registration documents to arrive from the DVLA.

Still sits outside the house and gets used daily.....over 150,000 miles later!

Although it was completely standard after 7 years in Japan, it's since had a few subtle tweeks and still holds its own against most other cars.

SunnySideUp 02 February 2010 09:15 PM

You Bu99er!! ;)

Let's change the rules to proper UK cars only! :lol1:

Off Your Marks 02 February 2010 09:48 PM

wow thats a heck of a time to own a car. I wish I could own a car that long

Ive been driving for 20 years and i have NEVER had a car longer than 8 months. Its only recently ive calmed down. My wagons are 5 months and 1 month in my ownership.

I must admit I think I will break the 8 month deadlock this time....

scud8 02 February 2010 09:53 PM

1996-1999 red classic turbo 2000
1999-2004 grey JDM STI v5
2004-* blue STI UK

14 years of continuous scooby ownership and almost six years on the latest one. No plans to sell it, so should be a few more years yet.

beef-on-the-bone 02 February 2010 09:54 PM

nearly 4 years, longest i've had a car for and certainly cost me the most!!!

mickywrx 02 February 2010 09:58 PM

I know Simon that posted this thread

Think he's had his genuine UK Turbo longer than you.

mickywrx 02 February 2010 09:59 PM

Just to be pedantic, you're still a few months shy of ten years. :hjtwofing :D

Mikkel 02 February 2010 10:00 PM

MaDaSS 02 February 2010 10:03 PM

7 years for me and the longest i have ever owned a car. Me and my banana/trifle/custard tart have been through a lot. I am getting a CTR very soon but i know i am going to wish i still had my scoob. Most reliable car i have owned. :thumb:

I want a more economical car and one that is a bit smaller and less yellow :p

Tim W 02 February 2010 10:21 PM
