5 x 100 - 18 x 9 - ET38 Blob STI
Hey folks just ordered some alloys to this spec 5 x 100 - 18 x 9 - ET38 would these clear my brembos or would i need wheel spacers
cheers steve |
That will depend on the spoke design mate.
|
That's the least of your worries, IMHO
dunx |
these are the rota forces ive ordered 5 x 100 et38 18 x 9 (will be running on 225/40/18
http://www.wheeldude.com/wdg/ul/inde...ery/5370_1.jpg same car so shouldnt be a problem (hoping) plus thats been slammed steve |
They should clear the brakes.
|
Forces give good clearence but its best to run a decent negative camber to clear the archs for fast road or track driving, i would say around 2-2.5., this assumes you have the car droped and run coilovers.
|
ill be running standard sti suspension. is it a necessity to run coilovers and
i know the geo setup would normally be 1.2 neg camber how extreme would this be towards track days when i put my standard 17s back on steve |
Damn...I was gonna order these tommoz We should have got together and we would have got a better deal.
Where did you get yours from and how much if you dont mine me asking. |

I'm suprised they miss, but given that you've stretched such a narrow tyre, it's not suprising that the rims will easily get scuffed/knocked.
Mine did. :( dunx |
they havent been stretched that much and at the mo no scuffs but you can never say never
steve |
Very nice im going for a set of these in a few weeks,i thought 225,s would be too small/streched on a 9" wide rim ?,i was gonna go for 235 or 245,s.
Mike81 are you still using front arch liners ?. un-ink best price please. |
The 9in width is not really the problem its the offset. A guy on our local forum is running Advans with a 255 tyre. It took hours to set up the geo to stop the scuffing etc. I cant remember what the offset is. Had mine on for 12months now but i fancy a change. Seems they are becoming a popular rim.
I had to stretch the tyre slightly and run the neg camber to get them under the arches on the front. No mods done to the front arches but the rears are rolled in flat, 235 on a ET38 rim should not be a problem |
