Custom made 6x9 rear parcel shelf

Here is a rear parcel shelf custom made to fit a MY03 wrx (may fit bug eye and hawk-eye?).

This was made by a company in York andcost me an absolute fortune (I will send the receipt with itto prove it).

Depending which speakers you intend to fit may need altering, but I fitted my 6x9's in it with no problem.

I will enclose the 6x9's with it.

how much you looking for? need a bit more bass fill in my car but use the boot so don't really want to go with a sub.

i'm interested :) where are you?

i assume you have to remove the rear seatbelts to fit through the holes?

Hi.

Yes, you have to take the middle seat belt out and re-fit it throught the hole. But basically I asked for it to be designed so everything in the car is as standard, so even the isofix car restraint sits in the normal position.
And when the shelf is fitted, it looks like the standard shelf.

Ideally it could do with some acoustic sound deadening fitting underneath to stop any metal rattling, and a better deeper basssound.

I paid £150 including vat, so take the vat off, and it still cost me a lot of money! I have the receipt to prove this.

I just want a decent offer, and I live in North Wales (near Rhyl) so if anyone wants to come and have a look, feel free.
It takes about an hour and half to fit, so be aware of this, but really does look the part.

If anyone is seriously interested, make me an offer (via pm if you wish).

Just to note, I have been a member of this site since 2002, and even though I have left Subaru ownership, I am a genuine seller, andstill frequent this site regularly.

i'll have a look at mine tomorrow to see how much work is involved to fit and will pm you an offer if i fancy it :)

i assume the rings are in it to lift the speakers up so they fit above all the metal work bits underneath? got any pics of it all fitted in your old scoob?

subarujimmy 29 January 2010 11:25 PM

Yeah, I have some pics I think on my desktop pc.

The 6x9's have a spacer normally in the pack, but the ones I used didn't need a spacer as the shelf accomodated them with ease.

If anyone wants to come and try it, let me know. But be prepared to take the back seat out. But by all means come and try it fitted.

Anyone???

:-)

Steve_PPP 31 January 2010 08:33 PM

i like the idea but not sure how it'll look once installed with the 6x9s lifted up on the rings...

if it were a true stealth shelf i'd snap your arm off, but i know there's clearance issues underneath if it were....

might take a punt for 50 quid?

subarujimmy 31 January 2010 10:10 PM

Hi mate,

Yeah, its cos of the clearance issues I got this made. So the speaker magnets fit just through the cut-outs already in the rear bulkhead.

I havn't got any pics of it fitted in the car (they were on my other pc when it crashed), otherwise I'd put them on.

I wanted a bit more than £50 tbh. But thanks for the interest.
