I dunno who to ask this to on the Scooby Sprint website, but I would like two of these number boards for my car:

How would I go about getting one, and who can I contact?

are these illegal on road cars??

Jamz_ 30 January 2010 04:57 PM

Not sure to be honest, i think it may be one of them old forgotten laws from back in the day.

I wouldnt be putting it on a road car though ;)

Displaying competition numbers in normal use is illegal, the rest is just a sticker....

??

Its for a track car

Agree with what Dunx says I did all the rounds last year drove to all the events and back had to put a bit of black tape over my number for driving on the road. If its just for a track car and being trailered it woulnt be a problem.Even better tax/mot the car and enter this years event if SBD hurrys up and pulls his finger out and gets the dates up.

AFAIK driving too and from a MSA event is illegal with door numbers, as Scoobysprint isnt recognised by the MSA (AFAIK?) then you should/could/might get away with it

Might have a wee look around for a definate answer to this one

Jamz_ 20 February 2010 12:22 AM

Has to have tax and mot to participate?

Shouldent matter TBH, it's not a MSA run event with MSA rules and guide lines ETC

The same question has been asked on the mini forum and somebody sent off an email to the Polis

Door Numbers - Official Police View - The Mini Forum

Same question was emailed to Lothian and Borders Police in Scotland

Their view is exactly the same

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your email, which has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

I forwarded your question to our Road Policing department, which has confirmed that door numbers are not illegal. Window numbers would only be illegal if the driver's forward or side vision was impaired.

I trust this will be of some assistance to you. If you have any questions about the above or I can help in any other way, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me again.

Kind regards,

which basically goes with what I thought about it

I used to road rally in the 70's, and I doubted much had changed since....
