Question regarding roll cage fitting

I have a cusco 6 point bolt in cage.
Seems simple enough to errect :norty: but heard i should also use metel plates to strenghten where it bolts in.
My question is,do these plates go underneith the car as if acting like a giant washer,or do they get welded inside the car to the floor?
Many thanks.

if a bolt in cage you should have some plates with tapped holes which need to be welded to the sill/floor behind the front seats.someone on here will have a pic im sure :)

I got it 2nd hand without the additional plates.:(
It obviously has the 6 plates with holes at the ends of the bars, but not these extra ones.
Plan to souce a peice of steel somewhere and get busy with the angle grinder.....:D
Also would like to know what width steel to buy.
Id guess around the 6mm-7mm range???

steel will come in 5/6/8mm thicknesses.if you were nearer i could have sorted you out with some from work.however,if you use 8mm for the tapped mounting plate and say 3,4mm for gussetts i think this will be sufficient bud.
