Anyone ever flown from Cardiff airport to Glasgow?

I'm off to Glasgow on Saturday morning and the flight is at 12.50pm

I need to catch a train first and I have two choices - either arriving at 10.30am or catch a later train to arrive at 12.05pm.

Now as I understand it the train takes you right to the airport. Do I take the early train and hang about for a couple of hours or the later one? The train journey is about an hour and a half with 1 change.

Edd,

Given the state of the rail operators accross the UK, I'd get the earler one.

BTW - surely your destination is irrelevant, and the question should be "anyone ever flown from Cardiff airport?"

I'd just drive ;) Train then plane, far to much hassle. Done Gloucester to Glasgow in four and a half hours utilising an early start to avoid the worst of the traffic.

Not so ,the train stops on the other side of the airport from the main entrance and from there you catch a bus which I would estimate takes about 10 mins to the airport.

You have to check in within 30mins of flight leaving. I got caught out a couple of weeks ago on a trip to Amsterdam. Flight was at 10, I tried checking in at 09:32 and was not allowed through. Plane never started boarding until 09:45

Given that your flight is at 12:50 minus the half an hour, that is 12:20 at the latest. Your train if on time arrives at 12:05 leaving you 15mins to get round the other side of the airport and check in.

Not a chance.

Ah ok, this is what I was after.

As Devildog said It's more about Cardiff airport itself rather than my destination.

How was the drive back? I'm picking up a car and driving back to Wales. I can either do M6. M5, M50, M4 or I could take the coast road around Snowdonia.

That really depends on what car you're picking up :D

You may hit a few slow bits on the M6 so it may well be worth taking to the twisties ;)
