Mini in WRC 2011-12 ?
 

ive heard a very faint whisper that mini are to enter the 2011 wrc. as the FIA are looking at making WRC engines 1.6l turbo instead of the 2.0.

is this true? does anybody know anything else

the run-flats would be handy in the event of a puncture i would imagine.

Interesting, would certainly change the playing field a little eh, and hopefully a few more will make a move into the WRC

1.6 turbo? Going for the boy racer market to increase fan base then?

It would be good to see the Mini competing again.

The last I read was that it would be new the Mini Countyman and was going to be developed and/or run by Prodrive. I don't know how true this is but it's quite exciting if it is going to happen.

Guess we'll all be driving about in Mini 4x4's soon then? ;) :D

There is high powered test mule in Japan at the moment, but I heard that was the forthcoming JCW GP, but that could be it ?

So what would the additional cars be alongside the Mini?

Can't think of any others straight off as small hatches now go to 2.0 for the top models like the Fiesta ST.

Will Ford bring out a new Fiesta 1.6 Turbo? I doubt it but would like to see one.

Also are the BTCC still going to 1.6 turbos for 2011?
