Clarion Ipod adaptor help please
 

Hi peeps i have recently bought an rb320 with the upgraded Clarion sat nav head unit that subaru supply, it also comes with the Ipod adaptor and my question is, does it charge the Ipod whilst connected as mine doesnt seem to? It would seem almost pointless espesh on a long journey of any kind if it doesn't.
Any light on the situation would be very helpful.

If it doesn't could you not get one of those cheap chargers that plug into the cigarette lighter from Ebay :wonder:

Lmao so whilst its charging i play it how??? good idea. This was a £1000 head unit so you would think it would charge it whilst on the move otherwise seems a waste of money.

I've got an 2004 Clarion headunit and fitted the Clarion iPod dock in 2006. It happily charges my iPod classic but not my new Touch.
It turns out about 2 yrs ago Apple changed the charging pin used to charge the iPod, so new Nanos and i guess all subsequent iPods won't charge. Helpfully my Touch tells me that it won't charge on that connector... So is your iPod too new??

you can get an adaptor for apple to charge ur ipod though the ipod lead. i had the same prod and now it works fine
