Classic scoop Vs STi8 scoop

Is there really any need for the later scoop over the standard item on a 2000 model?

I have the STi8 intercooler but dont like the STI8 scoop thats on the car. I'd rather put it back to standard however I'm having the car mapped again and hoping for around the 400/400 mark so will the bigger scoop help acheive this or will the standard scoop be adequate?

I wont be doing any high speed runs/track days etc. Just a normal road car.

On a classic your better off going fmic over tmic for that sort of power, the normal scoop doesnt give enough airflow in unless you do some mods on it (something to point the air down onto the intercooler) hence the new age blob scoops (not the aformentioned STI8 scoop which was a bug scoop but as versions stopped at 6 it just confuses things).

Tony:)
