sensible mods!
hi guys.soon gonna be fitting a sports cat downpipe to my bug and get a re-map.
at the mo im running green filter, airbox, cold air feed, full st st tornado exhaust. Im also planning to fit an uprated fpr, walbro, maybe a catless up-pipe at the same time to get mapped all at once. (Ive also contemplated a samco turbo intake and samco intercooler y pipe but are these necessary or should i save my money.) What bhp will i be looking at and should i keep airbox as i know theyre good or go with cone filter the cars is healthy and recieves regular mobile one oil/filter changes.:) |
Stick with the airbox if you are not going over 400bhp and keeping the OE ECU, a induction kit will upset the readings from the MAF. Samco hoses are not a necessity and won't affect the map if fitted later. The more you do before the mapping then you will only cough up once for the mapping not a tweek each time you fit something new.

FPR may not be needed... but a decent WRX will make close to 300 bhp on a good day.
Cat free up-pipe is a good move, IMHO. Check all hoses as ( our ) cars are 8 years old approx. and will start to suffer, i.e. radiator top & bottom hose.... HTH dunx |
As above.......... Think carefully what you want to achieve and get it done together to save on mapping costs and labour, etc. It will be a painful wait whilst you save and buy bit by bit, but long term you will save money.
And yes i am talking from experience. I had my alignment done 3 times due to my silly buying routine. |
ok guys.thanks for advice.
