So what will you be watching?.....

... on TV over the next few months?

I am not sure who will agree, but I feel that the TV has been utter crap over the last few months, so I was just wondering you guys and gals know of anything good to watch on the old goggle box?

The only thing I really sit down to watch is Lost, and as sad as it may be, I am stupidly excited that it will soon be back on. I just hope that watching it for several months over the last 5 years has not been a waste of time!

Jamz3k 18 January 2010 11:07 PM

My love for TV died after watching the last episode of Battlestar Galactica!:( Nothing has compared as i'm not really into Lost/24/Prison break etc.

Hysteria1983 18 January 2010 11:19 PM

I have never watched any of those others, I just tend to watch the same things over and over... like now. I am watching an episode of sex and the city that I have had on dvd for about 4 years!

That is how crap the TV is!

subaruturbo_18 18 January 2010 11:19 PM

I too, am waiting for lost. I have seen a interview with the crack heads that wrote it and apparently everything is answered. I do hope its answered in a way that is satisfying, unlike the matrix.

ScoobyWon't 18 January 2010 11:24 PM

I'm witing for the new F1 season to kick off. Nothing has grabbed my attention lately.

Hysteria1983 18 January 2010 11:35 PM

I have this horrible feeling that Lost will be a major disappointment.

There is the usual girly stuff on soon like 'Secret Diary' and that sort of thing.

Lisawrx 19 January 2010 12:14 AM

TV is crap for the most part. :(

I end up watching repeats of repeats of stuff that most people would hate, but entertains enough on my day off.

Looking forward to FlashForward starting up again though.

Lost can't be a disappointment, just think how amazing it has been over the last five years and think how many answers it has already give to make it so watchable, it is pure entertainment. It will gut me to see it end in April? because noting in the foreseeable future can ever match it.

As for SDOACG, that's not girly stuff you mental!

Supposedly there is seven different endings written, which are/is/have being filmed together to avoid leeks aswell.

hughes741 19 January 2010 02:17 AM

i will be watching shameless, skins and lost

Markus 19 January 2010 02:20 AM

Not everything will be answered in Lost. Some of the major points like what/who is the smoke monster and what's the deal with Richard and such like will be answered, along with the numbers, but not every detail will be filled in.

It's said the gimmick for the final season is the alternate timeline, ie; the crash never happened and so they did land, but things aren't as rosy as they should be as they were always meant to be on the island (one presumes we'd be told why this is).

My theory is that it's all to do with the man in black (the chap sitting on the beach with Jacob, and who took over Locke turning him into "fake" Locke) wanting revenge on Jacob for something (unable to leave the island?) and there is all this manipulation going to so he can get his revenge and Jacob is trying to counteract this. Oh and Richard is Jacob's son.

I think it's obvious I'm waiting for Lost to come back on :D Apart from that, well, the continuation of Sanctuary season two and SGU season one, the close of season two of Fringe, and that is about it really. I can't think of anything else that is popping into my head that I really want to see.

drb5 19 January 2010 09:42 AM

24, Flash Forward and F1.

Sorted. :)

Simon C 19 January 2010 09:45 AM

The winter olympics :D Can't wait, then once thats over the rest of the Biathlon world cup.

Must finish off season 8 NCIS and then get season 3 of Californication. Then once its released, season 3 of A town called Eureka.

Hysteria1983 19 January 2010 10:20 AM

Is weeds still being broadcast then? What season is it at now? I watched the first few episodes of the first series and that's it, I was pregnant at the time (I think) and sort of fell asleep a lot.

Does anyone know when True Blood next airs in the US?

As for Lost, I have no idea what they will pull out of the hat.... I think there has been way to much left unexplained, but I can't see it all being answered.
I think the statue on the island will play a big part. I tried to do some research about it after we saw a glimpse of it but it has since been revealed as Tawaret, the Egyptian goddess of birth, rebirth and the northern sky.

With all the issues of womens fertility and pregnancy on the island, and this revelation with the statue, I feel that is going to be the main bomb.

bigsinky 19 January 2010 10:29 AM

series 5 of weeds finished last year

Hysteria1983 19 January 2010 10:43 AM

Yea that fits in the time line. My son is coming up to be four add 9 months for pregnancy, so yep, I missed it due to needing sleep. It was a good program, cheers for the reminder.

Hysteria1983 19 January 2010 10:52 AM

Sobek, who I originally thought the Lost statue was...

Tawaret....

I still think there will be something new in this last series. A revelation that will help to tie up a few loose ends all at once.

I presume you know that Dollhouse and Terminator: sarah connor chronicles both, unfortunately got cancelled.

Tv programmes have gone seriously downhill in recent years. The BBC throw God knows how much cash at presenters and so called comedians with mouths like lavatories who are incapable of providing any kind of real entertainment. The other companies are no better and there is rarely anything worth watching which is new now.

Some of the mystery programmes used to be worthwhile but they now seem to be being made in such a convoluted and complicated manner that if you blink you miss the story or you just can't be bothered any more anyway!

You occasionally get an interesting documentary but they are getting rarer too.

I am grateful for Sky and the opportunity to watch some of the earlier programmes which were made and are even now a lot more entertaining than the modern rubbish. All you seem to have to do now is to shout and swear a lot and/or be outrageously camp and you get a show of your own for scads of cash! There is no clever humour any more. We are being conned seriously badly!

Les :(

Hustle - which is on at the moment and Ashes to Ashes are about the only series that I'll watch. Looking forward to the MotoGP and other bike racing and F1.

That would be BBC - BBC Two Programmes - Bellamy's People

Yes does look like it could be potentially entertaining :D

I got the box set of The Sopranos for Christmas so trying to work through that, only saw bits and pieces when it was on TV so making an effort to watch it in sequence this time, good watch so far :)

Jamie 19 January 2010 01:11 PM

Sopranos are very good just make sure you watch them in order and yes that link is the one, very good :)

Jay m A 19 January 2010 01:14 PM

This week

African Nations
League cup
Barca or Real Sat night, then
MOTD
Super Sunday
MOTD2

Next month Champions League gets to sharp end
Winter Olympics

Theres loads on :D

Markus 19 January 2010 01:19 PM

Good point about F1, I shall be watching, but alas not attending this year (I do have tickets to the NASCAR race at Montreal this year though, should be a bit of a laugh).

Ashes to Ashes is another good one too, it'll be interesting to see how that finally winds up and wether they do reveal who/what Gene actually is.

Series 9 of Spooks, if they make one, will be on the list, but not until much later this year.

Markus 19 January 2010 01:20 PM

Out of curiosity, are the Winter Olympics really being pushed on TV over there? I'm getting a bit tried of all the ads for it, but then as I'm in the host country you have to expect that, but I'm just curious to see how big a deal it is for elsewhere.
