tip #1. do not go sideways

Hysteria1983 18 January 2010 06:43 PM

I don't have any idea, I don't need to shave my face, but like gallois said, don't go sideways!

Is there a reason why you are shying away from convention?

Rob_Impreza99 18 January 2010 08:23 PM

I`d rather blowtorch the hairs off my face, its much safer than what your thinking of doing.

Jamie 18 January 2010 08:27 PM

Oi leave Dirk benedict out of this ;)

gallois 18 January 2010 08:27 PM

cut-throat shaving is like gun-scratching.

Simon C 18 January 2010 09:20 PM

Actually, its something I would like to try as well :D Yes, I am a bit of an eccentric, hell I still write with a fountain pen, that doesnt take ink cartridges.

Well for starters you need to find an old train with carriages so you can nick a couple of leather window pulls (strops). Traditionally used for sharpening the razor.......

If you want a close shave then some foam and a modern razor will give as good, or better, cut without blood all over the shop.

My father used one of those and he had it down to a fine art-never ever cut himself!

I will stick to the safety razor, I know my limitations!

Watched my pal get a cut throat shave at a barbers in Thailand, looked a bit painful and sore afterwards untill the barber put a handfull of lemon scented industrial bleach they claimed was after shave on his face. Once that was slapped on with a real slap it looked like pure agony. My pal who is Turkish had bright red skin for about 3 days.

DaveBeck 19 January 2010 06:51 PM

Had one in Turkey. its an experience alright but well worth it

G00ner 19 January 2010 08:01 PM
