Cermaic Coatings

I’m considering having the turbo and exhaust manifolds ceramic coated on a Subaru WRX in order to reduce under bonnet temperatures / improve performance.
Before I spend any money, does anybody have direct experience of ceramic coated components, and can you comment on the following?

1. Do they improve performance?
2. Is the finish relable and conistent?
3. Can you recommened anyone?

Thanks.

No, no, no.

But that's only me.

Zircotec in Didcot, Oxon are the people for ceramic coatings

It's beneficial to keep the heat in the exhaust components, to keep gas speed up, improve turbo spoolup and keep underbonnet temps down.

For what it costs for ceramic coating over wrapping the exhaust, it's not worth it IMO.

If you get the turbo etc. coated, make sure you don't touch it with dirty hands - It's virtually impossible to get dirt/grease marks off it ;)

the gains over wrapping are minimal iv heard but its all down to personal pref

iv got ceramic headers, and a wrapped downpipe

eventually il have headers, turbo and downpipe done.

I have used both over many years. My end conclusion is that turbo components lend themselves and perform very well with ceramic but I now labouriosly wrap (DEI) tubular headers.

Bought my headers coated from Tracktive so not sure who they sent them through. The headers have sort of discoloured with some staining, but i cannot say any of it has come off. As for any performance gains or owt, i really will never know. I just had the money to waste at the time, i was badly advised to buy the headers, etc, and there is no way i could be arsed with re-wrapping them at any time later on. I wanted it sorted for life basically.
Now if i had known at the time, i would have gone wrapped ported from Harvey! LOL.
