Consumable/replaced parts in exhaust swap

Hi All,

I now have some new exhaust bits for my 06 WRX, namely Prodrive back box, straight through centre pipe and a decat cat pipe.

I will hopefully be changing the bits myself and so was wondering what I would need to get, albeit on a just in case basis, for when I do the swaps.

I will be starting with the back box only, will I need a new gasket/washer thing between the box and centre pipe, and is it wise to get some new bolts etc or do they usually undo with no real hassles?

Whats advisable to have in case and to swap when doing the decat cat pipe and centre section?

Cheers for any help in this.

Ian

Prob worthwhile buying new all 3 of the gaskets, and a new set of studs/bolts/nuts for the downpipe-to-turbo - no matter how careful you are, you can bet you'll shear off at least one (usually the last one!). The centre and back box nuts/bolts should undo okay.

TIP: when you know which day/s you're gonna tackle all 3 jobs, liberally soak all the nuts/bolts/studs in WD40 the night before. If you have a heated garage, stick it there overnight too - warm nuts much easier to 'get off' than cold'uns. :lol1:

getting the sensor out of the cat was the hardest for me and i reused all gaskets but added some exhaust paste
