AUDI RS4 WANTS A RACE

So I pulled of a local village jct leading onto a wide main road national speed limit where the target was doing U turn using a lay-by.... I noticed he hit the gas on his exit, as did I.... I must say the gap between us didnt seem to shrink nor lengthen... 0.5mile later I back off at 135...... :D

Thats the first time since mapping 4 weeks ago that ive managed to get any traction to do such antics....

Anyway the point is, I got home and checked the stats of the Aud, so Ive got to be pleased with :thumb:i:

4163 cc
Cylinders

IainMilford 16 January 2010 05:25 PM

Dedrater 16 January 2010 05:26 PM

Where in the North West is the National Speed Limit 135?

Spec not great, awaiting the RR day at AET if i can get there once ive sourced a STI tmic, and had the NPS replaced..
2001 UK300, atm 330/320 ish (my estimation) with a VF30, STI pinks, 3" decat, Walbro, etc etc

AlanPPP 16 January 2010 06:12 PM

I stayed up the arse of one of these in my old WRX classic running 320..

Was from 30 down a slip road onto a deserted motorway upto around 125.The **** flying out of the exhausts confirmed he was trying too ;)

stevebt 16 January 2010 06:17 PM

I would still prefer the RS4 :D

shepster 16 January 2010 06:19 PM

Big heavy cars those RS4's also cost a small fortune, well done:thumb:
I looked to buy either the S4 or the Rs4 but the added cost just made the performance of the subaru even more desirable

agreed 30k+ car vs mine that i've got 8k in....

zip106 16 January 2010 06:43 PM

RS4's don't normally make more than 380 -ish bhp.
Couple that with what I'd guess to be a bit more weight than yours and yes, you should keep up.

Japorter 16 January 2010 06:50 PM

RS4 look alike?? I believe they are quite a monster after 80ish...

Its that 'R' that makes all the difference, unfortunately it also adds weight. (stands for Reet Quicken, German for rapid motor car)

If thats a question - ~I dont have a clue.

However the lad with the S4 is talking of upping the turbos... The fact is the engine is large enough to take advantage of huge torque

I came across this a while ago.. YouTube - RS4 BRUTAL ACCELERATION!!

Also so a RS4 racing on an autobahn for around 20min none stop on youtube but cant find it now.... that is a great vid if anyone finds it :D

ScoobyDoo555 16 January 2010 07:37 PM

I've had both marques, albeit in the "S" & equivalent...... performance was relatively on a par, but tbh, the Audi is a FAR better cabin to be in :)

Rob Day 16 January 2010 07:39 PM

I know this isnt relevent, but 50secs in is worth a watch:
YouTube - Audi autobahn slide. Hij verliest hem bijna. He almost crashes his Audi on the Autobahn.

PovK1 17 January 2010 12:41 AM

Its a great feeling isnt it, I have beaten rs4's new m3's etc, and the best thing is there are vids on youtube to prove it when people dont believe me.

bluenosewrx 17 January 2010 03:40 PM

I had a 350 bhp Hawkeye STi remapped by Andy F and now have a RS4, i dont think there was much in it to about 80 then i reckon the RS4 would pull away slightly,

But the cabin is FAR superior in every way TBH and i loved my scoob but well done anyway, always good to have a wee blast between 2 fast cars as long as its safely done.

Dont bother about the speed limit brigade on here, makes me laugh the lot of them.

Delve a bit deeper and do some research.

Matteeboy 17 January 2010 06:27 PM

A guy I know was so peed off when a bazzed up chaviot beat his new RS4 off the lights (the chaviot was clearly "properly" done) that he immediately booked it into MTM for a supercharger. Now it's pretty quick.

Plenty of B7 RS4s are down on power - well down. Still amazing cars though.

or so the police can use them to take your license away! excellent!;)

Filming yourself driving too fast then posting it up anywhere but a track = very stupid

:lol1: Depends how its done......

If you can find an Audi on youtube that is being driven like the 'ghostrider' stylie its worth posting.

Watched it once whilst at work and could then never find it again. Its around 10mins long..... rapid all the way through, very dangeorus and putting everyones life at risk, but he posted it, so I watch it!!!

Sorry of you disagree to such antics, but it is worth finding, i'll have a another look.

It was all done on a runway, on a specially organised event, and even so its not me driving :D

skoobidude 18 January 2010 12:52 PM

I've had my '07 RS4 for 6 months now and very pleased with it. Goes like stink when you want it to and gives an extra VTEC-style kick at around 6000rpm. Revs to 8000rpm quite easily and sounds awsome. Just wish I could hear it more from the outside!

Not really had many "moments" with other cars as it doesn't appear to attract much attention.
Great all round car though and the women love it ;)
