Large Fish tank and Stand

I want to start over after the filter mistake, but would like to increase the tank size to justify an expensive new filter. Anyone selling or giving away :D |

Where abouts are you? I have one but would need collection:
Ive got a fish tank for sale, comes with a stand too... Also comes with heater (if you have tropical fish) filter, lights, air wall, air pump. Note... i have a different uprated pump from what is in the link below, the heater is still in box unused... I also have some fish food and all the chemicals that go in the water too. Also supplied with red grit/gravel with large rocks.... all you need to do is add the water + fish. Don't underestimate the cost of a proper set up - mine stands me at about £1200 for a 4 ft tank - I deliberately over-filter / over-aerate, double up on heaters etc to have built in redundancy, but even so the costs add up. I have three different fluorescents on timers so it phases through the day (starts off with soft grow lamp, then full day lamp, then moon lamp, then phases down to just moon). No real plants (cichlids just destroy them) but lots of rock / wood etc.
Teaching you how to suck eggs, but think hard about what fish you're going to keep and set the tank up for them - e.g. I have a tank with coral gravel and sand as the main substrate which helps buffer the tank and keep it slightly alkali. I am slightly different to most in that I do not advocate frequent large water changes - the stability of the water is key (hence the over-filtration) so I only do about 1/3 of a tank every 4 months or so, rinsing the filter sometimes more frequently but often not. I've done this from 18inch tanks up to the current 4ft over the years and never had problems - except when introducing fish too quickly to new set ups before the bacteria have established. I know its expensive :) that why I'm hoping someone on here has the tank and stand at a cheap price to start me off .. my current 3 foot tank was given to me for free :)
