Anybody know of a good VCD player?
Most are DVD machines but some dvd players also play VCD movies.
It needs to be as cheap as possible ,not botherd about top of the range as long as it plays VCD.
Any good sites to look on?

Remember....Cheap!!:)

Buy a 2nd hand playstation one with the VCD add-on thing!

That would be cheap ?

buy the scan 2500 from here http://www.scan.co.uk/sc2500.htm

plays with DVD, CD, VCD, SVCD, CD-R & CD-RW, and MP3 discs.
dolby dts too.

not bad for less than £140 inc vat.

I changed from £600 worth of sony dvd player to this and have found no degrdation in picture or sound quality, tho its a fair bit more plasticky.

Hello

The Tesco's DVD player for £99 also plays VCDs.

Steve.

SVCD is the way to go. One DVD can be converted to 2 or 3 cheap CDRs.

Picture quality is very good (better than VHS) and sound is high-bitrate stereo.

If I was buying, SVCD would be a must-have for me.

You can also buy dedicated VCD players. They are the size of a CD walkman and also play CDs
