China, Google, censorship and the US gov't

U.S., Google and China square off over Internet - Yahoo! News UK

chineese chucking their weight around yet again, China really does seem to have a "screw you jack i'm allright" attitude i wonder how long before they start invading a few more neighbours and we just look the other way.

The p1ssing contest starts
"If this becomes heavily politicised, and there are signs that it is, and people in the Chinese government say, 'This is good. It serves you right, and we won't bow our heads to the United States, then there'll be no way out," said Xie Wen, a former executive in China for Yahoo and other big Internet companies, who is now a prominent industry commentator.

and they do hold some purse strings eh Mr President...
With China the largest lender to the United States, holding $800 billion (491.5 billion pounds) in Treasury bills, these Internet tensions will make steering this vast, fast-evolving relationship all the more tricky, especially with the U.S. Congress in an election year.

I think the US China relationship is all one sided. The Country has an appalling human rights record yet civilised countrys are lining up to do business.

Without doubt China is the most dangerous country in the world. They will soon own the US!

They wont hesitate to go to war for the smallest thing. Just wait and see.

They already have a huge group of IT people hacking into large companies and various Government Departments.

It comes down to money doesnt it? We actually control them, because we provide the demand: if the demand is lost then they have no market for their rubber dogsh*t (and everything else that they manufacture).

In reality though, because of our greed and dependency on their cheap rubber dogsh*t, we wont/cant ever exert the theoretical control that we hold.

We have made a monster.
