iPhone Lock Screen - Email Notification

Hi Guys,

I have an iphone from work for emails (via Exchange push mail), but is there a way to get email notifications when the phone is on the lock screen, without Jailbreaking it?

Any help would be welcome

Thanks
Andy

It should vibrate and make the new mail noise. I know because mine wakes me up.

Apart from the sound and the vibrate when a new message is received, I do not believe there is any other notification on the lock screen that you have received a new email.

It would be nice if Apple did display an alert as they do when you miss a call, have voicemail waiting or a new sms message.

I don't think there is an app in the app store that would allow this, primarily as it would require it to run in the background, which is a big no-no from Apple, unless it uses push of course, which I believe is the only way to really do this stuff.

The only option I can think of would be to somehow send an SMS message when a new email is sent, this would display an alert on the lock screen, along with a shake and sound if those options are enabled.

Apart from doing that, which is clunky, would be to jailbreak it.

Thanks guys, so pretty much as expected which is a shame. I'm use to the flashing red LED from a Blackberry, so hoped for something similar!

As someone who often has to share a room with a phone, I'm pleased there are no flashing lights, far more suitable for the blue LED on the ear brigade.

Its always nice to be given the option to customise something to how you need it :)
