bugeye wagon wrx springs
are the wagon springs the same as the saloon ? which ones should i get :thumb:
cheers lee |
No, the rear springs on the wagon are stiffer to cope with the extra weight (glass/metal), fit saloon springs on a wagon and the rear end will sit about 1/2-3/4" low.
Which ones you should get depends on what your fitting them to, which you havn't made any effort to tell us, either in this post or in your 'garage' and I can't be bothered to go searching your old posts! But if you have a Rover Metro they won't fit as it has no springs OK! Simon |

:nono: It says what the SPRINGS you are talking about in the title in the title :cuckoo: not what car you have - you may have been looking to fit Wagon springs to a saloon!
However now you imply you have a Wagon, I can tell you that you need Wagon springs! Prodrive Blues are the same for Wagon and Saloon, Saloon sits a little higher at the rear which helps reduce understeer, you loose that on a Wagon and I dare say that is true for most aftermarket springs. STi springs are so much stiffer the extra weight of the Wagon at the rear is not an issue, hope that helps. Simon |
I'VE JUST HAD A USED SET OF STI STRUTS FITTED TO MY 02 WAGON,THE BACK END IS LOWER NOW AND THE CAR SEEMS NOT TO BE LEVEL THERE'S A SLIGHT RISE TO THE FRONT.I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD HAVE THE OLD WAGON SPRINGS FITTED TO REAR OR LOWER SPRINGS TO THE FRONT,ANY VIEWS PLEASE.DES.

Don't SHOUT please!
What 'STi struts'? Newage STi struts shouldn't give you 'butt sag' they are such a high spring rate, I have newage on my Forester (even heavier rear than wagon) and it sits nice and level. Simon |
Why not fit coilovers and adjust the height to how you want it lol

I fitted JDM STi struts and Eibach springs to my Bugeye wagon. Make sure you use the wagon top mounts when fitting the springs.

HI Rookie,The sus struts came off a Bugeye saloon mines a Bugeye wagon.I've got the four old struts complete so i guess they havn't used the wagon top mounts. The car feels loads better and a lot stiffer now maybe a 'slight' bit rising to the front won't harm. It's going for geometry set up tomorrow but if I have to change things again geometry will have to be done again eh? Des.

Slight changes to rear ride height won't affect the geometry worth worrying about.
