ESC Events commitee

Over the years, the ESC have attended some great events, and at one stage, we were practically doing one thing or another every weekend!!

Tiny and Karen have done a fantastic job in organising most things but they want to take a back seat roll now, which IMO is well deserved:thumb:.

I feel that the ESC can be something we are proud of again, so I propose that we set up an events commitee, so outings can be discussed, planned and executed with the passion Karen and Tiny had!.

Would anyone be interested?

Phil 02 January 2010 11:44 AM

SIDC events and Track days are notified to your SIDC RO which is Bri4n who I am sure will continue to post these events in here

Tiny 02 January 2010 11:48 AM

Fantastic idea Paul :thumb:

Best of luck with it , will of course help out wherever we can

Happy ESC 2010 :D

Nate 02 January 2010 12:04 PM

Paul,

It is a great idea, and I am sure others will agree that when certain names are not on a list of attendees, this is when an event doesn't usually take off.

I wish that the Newbies (for want of a better word) would get involved in an event or 2, by this time, I am sure that the whole events side of things would pick up again, most of the events that happen do not have many of the 'old crowd' in attendance, which is fine, as people and things do move on.

I was extremely surprised by the attendance of newbies on the Santa Cruise, got to meet quite a lot of new people :thumb:

And yes, there will be a Santa Cruise 2010 :thumb:

The idea behind it mate is to have an unbiased commitee, to arrange more events, get the newbies more involved in the club and to bring the ESC back to being the No1 club in the UK again.

I ideally want at least 1 newbie to be on the commitee and try and rid the ESC of all the hard feelings of the past, reunite people and have a bloody good laugh.

It's not going to be easy, and won't be able to please everyone all the time but I'm up for the challenge - Is anyone else?

BTTT

Arkwright 03 January 2010 12:45 PM

Yes Yes bring it on in the summer me and the missus would much rather be out doing something we are both petrolheads so yes let`s try and get things back to how they used to be according to Tiny something going on all the time and some. :thumb:
So yes we are up for it. :luxhello::luxhello::luxhello:

Cornelius 03 January 2010 12:47 PM

Nice one Arkwright :thumb:

Was beginning to feel no one was interested

Arkwright 03 January 2010 12:52 PM

We have a friend who race`s reliant robins at Mildenhall. We have introduced several of our friends to watching and the entertainment factor of around 30-40 three wheelers ragging it round a shale track is huge.
Oh yes and to spice it up it is a full contact sport so basicly banger racing on three wheels, at any one time you can have upto 4 of them rolling over at the same time.
I`ll post up when his next race meeting is.:thumb:

Cornelius 03 January 2010 12:55 PM

That sounds like a huge giggle!!

Arkwright 03 January 2010 01:01 PM

During a race there is so much action you can miss some just because you are looking at something else. LOL :D

Hope this is not BMW production cup raceing you are talking about LOL

WRX_Dazza 03 January 2010 09:38 PM

Paul, i'm happy to help out where possible mate. Had to lie low on meets due to finances recently, but hopefully 2010 will prove fruitful once more.

I'm happy to get newbies introduced and have a few ideas.

good on you for your thought about this and doing something. it is after all THE best car club !

scooby_seb 03 January 2010 09:47 PM

Im still quite new to the club and met a few of you at the santa cruise and last night at the posers cruise at southend (red scoob). I would love to get more involved in the club somehow. Its nice to be part of a club that actually does something rather than just sitting in car parks.

Well Bmw production racing could be described similarly; You never know who`s going to be cutting the grass next. ;) :luvlove: it.

Cornelius 03 January 2010 10:09 PM

As always, your help will be greatly appreciated Dazza:notworthy

Scooby_Seb, you're more than welcome to be a part of this:thumb:

In the past, we have had some inter club battles ie Skyline OC Vs 200SX OC Vs ESC and it's been great fun, but I think it would be nice to have more family orientated days out etc so everyone can be involved.

The ESC motto: More than just a club, lets make it true again:)

I know that there aren't that many of us that play anymore, but I don't mind organising the odd golf day. Will have a look about and see what deals are on at the moment.

Phil, have you dates for these mate?

Got a Santa Pod planner to mark up the dates - if I remember where I put it:wonder:

Captain Carbon 08 March 2010 05:15 AM

Now i'm back Paul you can count me in :thumb:

On one condition.....will someone get rid of these poxy RS owners...they're just jumped up Megane enthusiasts at the end of the day and they break up the convoys :Suspiciou;):lol1:

Ideally I want to go to as many shows I can this year...!! Bring On The Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I remember a few years back that feeling of cleaning the car in the morning, letting it dry of an afternoon so you didn't get any streaks when you dropped those windows!!....turning up with everyone standing around chatting and laughing (not shivvering!!), cruising down to the front where we all stood eating fresh doughnuts and enjoying the weather...

I even found the first ESC crusing CD the other day!!

GROUP HUG! :D
