Fitted a Forge re-circ valve to my type r and it chattered like a good un afterwards, not to mention run a million times better than with a vta.

If you are getting compressor stall after changing your dumpvalve, the reason for this is because the valve is not opening - presumably due to too strong a spring for the amount of manifold vacuum your engine creates.

The net effect is the same as running no DV at all. So if you're getting a lot of this, and you're not running a turbo that is known to be tolerant to it, it might be worth looking at the spring tension - or whether a weaker one is available.

Oh, try this thread Picky, probably answers most of your questions: https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...ve-delete.html

Which model scoob do you have Picky? The VF series turbos don't seem to like running without a dump valve because they aren't as strong as the TD turbos. I have a Sapphire Cosworth and I run no dump valve and my sister doesn't run one on her 95 WRX but they don't make the same noise :( The noise with no dump valve on a Cosworth is much nicer than the WRX.
