Well....i've been on the dark side for a couple of days ....searching .....searching......searching..... to tell u the trueth ...i would need to take each of them for the evening to understand what is better for me... Their both good cars thought...just this scooby understare is killing me....except spec c.... even " the dark people" say that spec c with mods like yours ricky is unbeatable... BUT!!!!! The understanding of all automotive thing....U wana be the fastest or u want just to enjoy the car, the feedback u get from it etc., which i do in my classic. Which i did have in the integra dc2 which is only 200bhp but the feeling u get from it is amazing....:notworthy... So it's up to u , if u want to prove smtn or just to enjoy the experience.....RAW experience if it's a classic sti....

Im just getting bored & having fun looking through Pistonheads!
I have decided & will ultimately go for the Type R. But at some stage I would like to drive a CSL to see what all the hype is about. I wonder how different it would be to my Spec C in terms of Performance & Comfort?? I think it would be more luxurious & a better daily drive, but it'l get caned by my Spec C on the road :D :p

Shiver 06 January 2010 02:10 PM

If you want a cheap and incredibly good handling car I can sell you a very nice (proper) Mini! Noisier than your Scoob too...

rickya 06 January 2010 02:14 PM

Oh no now we'v got to Mini's!!!! This thread is getting s bit messed up, thanks to me!!!!!!!!! lol

Are'nt you keeping your MIni??

M444GY 06 January 2010 02:29 PM

emagine ricky in a mini lol

Shiver 06 January 2010 06:11 PM

If it scared Alan, imagine how much it'd scare Ricky!!

I'm keeping it for now. Just a couple of bits to finish in the next month or so then it's going for a Mini World feature.

It's set me back a fair whack so don't want to sell but really fancy a stanced-out AE86 or classic Jap project next... Just need to drive it again and the love for it will come back :D

Any news on your hunt Ricky?

rickya 06 January 2010 06:50 PM

I think I may delay my sale & hunt for new car till May!!

ps a Retro Jap project would be awesome ;)

rickya 18 January 2010 04:40 PM

This could be an interesting project? Buy it for approx £4k & spend a further £4k on it over the years to make it stonking!! :wonder:

1999 JDM SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI TYPE R V5 2 DOOR GREY on eBay (end time 14-Feb-10 21:20:40 GMT)

What do you reckon??
I am thinking of making an offer & if bought just keep it stored under covers till Spec C goes???

rickya 18 January 2010 04:58 PM

Unfortunately gearbox went pop & was replaced with Uk sti 5 speed with no dccd. Also engine rebuild was done by Area52.
Ah well :(

M444GY 18 January 2010 05:05 PM

looks nice though :D

rickya 18 January 2010 05:26 PM

This would seem a bargain if you could get it for around £4750?

I did email him this morning offering £4.5k cash ;)
But I think its a bit of a cheeky offer & dont think he'l part with it at that price as he is a part time car dealer & wants to make a little profit on it me thinks.

rickya 26 January 2010 08:12 PM

SUBARU IMPREZA STI TYPE R/ROLL CAGE/FULLY FORGED!! on eBay (end time 28-Jan-10 17:07:29 GMT)

JonMc 26 January 2010 08:17 PM

The bonnet doesn't even close:eek:

I thought you'd given up on this idea

Guv 26 January 2010 10:15 PM

he hasn't put what turbo he's got on it:wonder:

rickya 26 January 2010 10:40 PM

Bonnet's not meant to!
Vf34 turbo says in questions at end.
Dont like the cage though or those extra gauges, look a bit sh&te :(

Not sure what a super shif gearbox is & who did the build?

JonMc 26 January 2010 10:42 PM

Give it up:thumb:

BTW, Guv's got a diff lock kit for sale, Perrin one that'll fit the spec-c:D

FB Tuning 26 January 2010 11:17 PM

Ricky - Buy something GC8 with 2 doors that need a little bit of fettling, then drop me a PM ;)

FB Tuning 26 January 2010 11:24 PM

Picture #3 - Did that gauge get installed by the Halfords "We'll fit it" crew? :lol1:

M444GY 27 January 2010 02:56 PM

 if we cant fit it we will **** it styleee

rickya 27 January 2010 07:30 PM

Thanks Richard :)
I like quite a few but just window shopping at the moment.
The black type r I put a pic up of emailed me saying he'l wants £4.5k for it. But mileage is not 66k but 77k & now has several dings on it apparently.
John thanks for the info, Im gona but that diff lock off Guv. :)

You'll have to be quick, he's had some interest:thumb:

rickya 27 January 2010 08:03 PM

Deal done this morning:)
Was gona also take the oil off him but I want to stick with 10w 40w & IIRC he's got 10W 50W.

When the weather gets a bit warmer Im gona refit my backbox with a bit more of that exhaust paste on the flange joint as it seems to be slightly blowing there. Also fit the diff lock at the same time. I wonder if fitting the diff lock will bugger up the alignment??

JonMc 27 January 2010 08:05 PM

I agree with the 10w40 thing, I had 5w40 in before the oil change and it was very rattley at the top end, changed to 10w40 when Rich did the service and was so much quieter. Semi-synth at the moment, but will run it for a bit and then put some full-synth back in once it has flushed the engine:D
