Sorry for some mis-information on a previous thread. The next Knockhill event is not on the 11th May. I had forgotten that we had to rechedule this to the 20th July due to a clash in the race calendar at Knockhill.

The full calendar of events we have planned are as follows:

Knockhill

Thursday June 20th. Evening session from 6-8pm. £35, open pit lane. Limited places.
Saturday 20th July. Morning session from 9am - 1pm. £65, open pit lane. Places going very quickly!!!
Thursday August 15th. Evening session from 6-8pm. Open pit lane. £35. Limited places. BBQ afterwards in lodge for £10pp (eat/drink all you can :))
Saturday 28th September. Morning session from 9am - 1pm. £65, open pit lane. Plenty of places left so far.

You can book online at http://shop.sidc.co.uk

Kames

Saturday April 20th. All day from 9am onwards. Approx £20 per driver. Unlimited runs around the track.
Sunday May 26th. As above.
Saturday/Sunday July 27th/28th. Double header weekend :D. Run in one direction on Saturday. Overnight camping on site, with BBQ party (bring your own) etc (nearby B&Bs/hotels for those who prefer their creature comforts ;)). On the Sunday, we'll run the track in the opposite direction. This event is provisionally booked just now, so if you think you'll be attending, please let me know asap so we can confirm it. Either by e-mail or post up on here.
Sunday 1st September. All day from 9am onwards.

Karting

Saturday 18th May. Outdoor karting at Raceland near Edinburgh. 4 hour endurance race in teams of 6 drivers. Only £300 per team (usually £450!!). This will be on their brand new race karts (2x200cc engines so faster than before!), and we'll be amongst the first customers to use them.

We'll probably have a few more of our usual 2 hour outdoor karting events throughout the year as well :)

For more info on any of the above, please email me at john@sidc.co.uk

edited to correct the date of the first Kames event, so as not to clash with Crail on the Sunday.

John,

The track days at Kames sound good value for money and the weekend sounds great fun. Would you be willing to let other cars in as I might even bring the caravan for the weekend. I am hoping to get a faster car by then but at the moment I would be brining a 306 dturbo.

Graham,

we'd be more than happy to let other cars take part if it helped us guarantee enough numbers to make the double header event worthwhile :)

Count me in for Kames on 27th & 28th July. Doubt I will go on the track but will contribute to costs etc.

john,

would it be possible, with enough demand,to run K/hill in anti-clockwise direction at one of the events?

Doogsy 19 March 2002 10:01 PM

Good idea would certainly even up the wear on me tyres :)
And without swapping them on the rims :)

John
Count me in for Kames will try to make them all :D
Like Kames much

T-UK,

I don't think Derek Butcher wants a nutter like you charging down to his beloved hairpin at 140mph......would be interesting though.

Duffis would be boring, clarks would be scary....heh you could go sidaways through the chicane ha ha ha.

Nissan Mad 20 March 2002 11:17 PM

140 mph because its a lllooonnnggg way downhill!

T-uk 24 March 2002 11:39 AM

I'm sure K/hill did reverse direction track days years ago.never did one but think it would be good,if it's possible.

Alas 24 March 2002 04:11 PM

Did their Tarmac Rally in the wrong direction a couple of years ago. Scaaaaary.
Alasdair
Mind you, wonder if I was the only one going in that direction.

tut 24 March 2002 04:50 PM

T-uk

They have done the Hot Hatch days in the reverse direction in the past, but I think they have now stopped it.

tut

ps not sure if it would make any difference to you anyway, you rarely face the same direction for long....

Nissan Mad 24 March 2002 11:18 PM

TUT,
It is true what you say about him facing different directions. It probably comes from him driving tractors alot, it goes forward with him looking backwards at the plough. LOL.

No offence John, just taking the mickey (says he who is called "NISSAN MAD").

Graeme

P.S. everyone watch out for STARSKY & HUTCH at future Hot Hatch days.

Jap Cars Mad 25 March 2002 12:12 AM

T-UK,

Changed!!!

You know who!!?!

G

P.S Clue - Track Car Towed today!?!

John Stevenson 26 March 2002 12:06 AM

Note....april Kames Date is now Saturday, not Sunday. So can we expect some Crail thrashers ? Maybe teach you how to go round corners !!!!

Cosie Convert 26 March 2002 01:18 AM

Done a Knockhill double header race with the cossie reverse direction.....in the rain  totally different experience, even more blind corners than clockwise !
The chicane is the only dodgy bit, 100mph plus blind entry, get it wrong and you take off over the second kerb then barrel roll down the hill (yes, someone did !)

Hairpin is a real brake tester  Even FWD get the tail out :D :D :D

Richie1 28 March 2002 08:40 PM

Any chance of running my own car on the 20th July ??

Its not a Scooby but I was kinda invited (TeknoPete on another post) to take a few of this lot :p out in my own car at one of the Top Marques nights but would prefer a day :D

If not then lemme know but I am keen :D

I WILL convert a few ppl ;) LOL
